Semifinal February 17, 2022 February 18, 2022

Gameplay[]

As a spin-off to the College Championship, the tournament features 12 quarterfinal matches, with the winners advancing to the four semifinals. Of those four winners, the three with the highest scores compete in the traditional two-game final. As with all tournaments, the quarterfinals and semifinals are played for points, while the final is played for cash. Unlike the regular College Championship, there are no wild card spots; it's "win or go home".

Trivia[]

  • The music package for the Jeopardy! National College Championship features a marching band, similar to Sports Jeopardy!, except it was composed by Bleeding Fingers Music. The main theme is a marching band rendition of the parent show's 2008 theme, and the Think! is an updated version of the one used on Sports Jeopardy!
  • As with other tournaments, the winner of this tournament will also be given a place in the ToC.
  • The winner of this series was a 21 year old student named Jaskaran Singh from the University of Texas at Austin (or UT).
  • Like any other tournament, Contestant have to play 4 matches to become a champion. The difference is that you have to win unconditionally, and even if you win in the semifinals, Contestant have to be in the top 3 to advance to the finals[1].
  • On February 18, 2022, the first tiebreaker occurred at primetime in third semifinal match (12th in history). In total, it is the first since the broadcast on January 22, 2021, and in terms of the tournament, it is the first since June 26, 2019.[2]
  • The winner of this tournament, Jaskaran Singh, appeared at ToC in November of that year, but was unfortunately forced to turn away after losing to Eric Ahasic.
  • After this competition, Michael Davies is planning a Jeopardy! Second Chance.[3]
  • Gus Guszkowski is the son of John Guszkowski, who appeared on January 26, 2023.
