Note[]
- 13 of the participants have competed with ToC entrants before in their original appearance:
- Brian Chang - Jack
- Matt Amodio - Tracy, Jessica and Rowan
- Jonathan Fisher - Jessica
- Andrew He - Molly
- Amy Schneider - Do and Pam
- Mattea Roach - Renee and Sarah
- Ryan Long - Aaron and Tom
- Megan Wachspress - Sadie
- Yungsheng Wang - Alicia
- According to a Twitter account announcement, Erica Weiner-Amachi could be a replacement, and Isaac Applebaum, who originally placed 4th in the national college tournament, announced his absence and became an actual substitute. Later, Isaac qualified to appear in the 2023 Champion wildcard Diamond group.
- The ToC held in season 39 is expected to have some changes.
- This time, Jessica and Rowan qualified for the ToC, setting a record for 3 people competing against Matt amodio to advance to the ToC.[1] However, both of them came back after realizing the high wall of the ToC[2].
- Reflecting viewers' opinions that it was disappointing that champions with 1 to 3 wins were not given this opportunity after this SCT, starting from the next SCT, the ToC advancement spot for the winners of each group was replaced with a CWC advancement spot where 1 to 3 wins and non-winners of the tournament compete.
Evaluation[]
References[]
- ↑ Josh Saak, Matt's first opponent, qualified for ToC by winning the 2023 CWC Spade group.
- ↑ 11-time champion Jonathan Fisher faced the same fate, and Matt Amodio, who advanced to the bye, also failed to advance to the finals. Additionally, among the S37 players Josh Saak, Emily Sands, and Nick Cascone who advanced to the 2024 ToC through the 2023 CWC, only Emily advanced to the semifinals. As a result, S37 became a season in which not a single player made it to the ToC final following S21 and S28.
