Jeopardy! Masters is a special event held in commemoration of the Jeopardy! show and will be organized on Primetime.
Pre-air information[]
ABC has announced a new primetime tournament called Jeopardy! Masters[1]; only this time, Ken Jennings will be hosting it. It will feature the six highest-ranked, current Jeopardy! contestants, who will face off in a Champions League-style event to win the title of Jeopardy! Masters champion.
According to the primary information released by the production team, Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, Andrew He, Sam Buttrey, and James Holzhauer has been decided. It remains to be seen whether the tournament will be held with these six people or whether another participant will be recruited.
The information known from Inside Jeopardy! before the airing is as follows.
- There will be 10 hour-long episodes with 2 half-hour games in each.
- It is currently intended on being a yearly event and if that happens, then the top 3 ranked players will return next year while the bottom 3 spots will be up for grabs, with those players going into the pool for the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament, an event held in conjunction with Masters. This tournament will feature other past greats such as Julia Collins, Sam Kavanaugh, Colby Burnett, Larissa Kelly, Ryan Long, Jason Zuffranieri, Jennifer Quail, Jonathan Fisher, David Madden, Roger Craig, Austin Rogers, Buzzy Cohen, Matt Jackson, Seth Wilson, Arthur Chu, Alex Jacob, Ben Ingram, Alan Lin, Brad Rutter, etc. It is unknown whether the Invitational Tournament will be done in Primetime or not, but it will happen if Masters returns for a second go-around.
- Spots 4-6 will be filled by the winner of the next ToC, the winner of the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament, and a "wild card".
- The winner of this tournament and the third place will automatically qualify for the next Masters tournament.
- The first week is held except for Thursdays, and the second and third weeks are aired on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Rule[]
- See here for details.
- As in the league, the winner is awarded 3 points, 2nd place 1 point and 3rd place 0 points.
- If there is a tie for second place, unlike other formats where rankings are determined by DJ! and J! scores, here there is a tiebreaker between the second place players.
- A total of 14 matches will be played, and the top 4 players with the highest scores will advance to the semifinals. In case of a tie, the ranking is determined by the number of wins, total number of correct answers, Coryat Score, and total score before FJ.
- After the previous two matches, the brackets were set up so that the winners of the group would face each other in the next match, and the other player would face one player who hadn't played against them.
- The semi-finals are also conducted in the same format to determine the top 3 players, and the finals, like any other tournament, use a 2-day format to determine the winner.
- The top three will advance to the Masters, and the remaining three will advance to the next JIT.

Trivia[]
[]
- This is Ken Jennings’ first hosted Jeopardy! primetime special.
- The appearances of the 2022 ToC finalists and the Top 3 of the corresponding ToC have been confirmed, and it is safe to say that this competition is an extension of the 2022 ToC.
- There is a lot of talk about James' appearance. James competed with Ken, the host, in the GoAT tournament, and worked together in The Chase. Perhaps there is a reason that Syndicate and Primetime are treated separately, or that they are treated with respect as people who have left great achievements, or that the rules have changed. As a result, there is a possibility that Brad Rutter, who competed together, also appeared[2].
- Ken and James, who competed at GoAT, reunited from a competitor relationship to an MC and participant relationship this time.
- When the first lineup was released, more and more viewers are predicting whether the Top 3 matchup, which was held as a 2022 ToC demonstration match, will be officially held, or whether the 2022 ToC final will be reproduced, or a match between James and Amy.
- It is a tournament hosted by Ken, who has been a regular in big tournaments, as a host, and attention is focusing on who will be the new strongest player in this tournament.
- Attention is also focusing on whether Matt Amodio will win his first victory under the producer Michael Davies system[3].
- There is an opinion that it is regrettable that Sam Kavanaugh, the 2021 ToC winner, was excluded from this competition.[4]
- This tournament seems to be a picture for a special event in Season 40.
- With the Masters Tournament becoming an annual event, Jeopardy has effectively become a league, divided into four divisions, much like European soccer leagues. Second Chance is a respawn match for those who did not win, Wildcard tournament is a match between champions with 1-3 wins, Tournament of champions is a champion who has won 4 or more consecutive wins and those who have qualified for ToC in the previous two tournaments, and Masters is a ToC winner or one who made a big success. It is a league given to people, and it can be said that it is divided into four.
- For the opening, and when the daily doubles are being shown, the original board fill sound from 1984-2008 is brought back, which hasn't been used since the season 24 finale.
- In this series, the locations of some DDs were briefly revealed to viewers. This makes Masters the first and currently only time the DDs have been revealed.
- On May 10th, Mayim and Ken, MCs of Jeopardy, appeared on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune for PR together with Vanna, MCs of Wheel of Fortune. Pat's daughter Maggie Sajak was the co-host/letter toucher in this episode.
- The tournament aired the same day as "TV Moms Week" on Buzzr.
- Like the previous GoAT, most of the participants are showing True DD.
- Although it was not mentioned, it seems impossible to watch the cast in the waiting room in both the preliminaries and the finals, as in the preliminaries with a 15-person system[5].
- Due to the sudden birth of Andrew He's son, Ken Jennings' positive COVID-19 test, and Mattea Roach's father's death, filming was postponed three times, so not only was filming not completed by the first airing date, but it also overlapped with the Hollywood writers' strike, so the remaining games were postponed, We had to proceed without a team of writers. However, since the problems had already been written, there were no problems with recording the remaining episodes.
[]
- They only played the preliminaries, but James' solo performance continues. In particular, when the match is decided in FJ, they also perform a performance where they write funny answers.
- The True DD (25,600) bet by James in the last match of the preliminaries is the highest ever[6].
- During the recording, Mattea heard the sad news of her father passing away.
- The 2022 ToC participants received conflicting results. Amy, who won the championship, and Sam, who placed third, suffered the loss of elimination without even winning a single game. took 4th place. Also, Matt and Mattea, who lost to Sam and Amy in the semifinals, advanced to the finals.
