America's Low Budget Superstar was a very short lived talent game show for the Los Angeles, CA area.
Gameplay[]
The show was a concept of several elements similar to American Idol, The Gong Show, and America's Funniest Home Videos. It featured top, undiscovered talent of all ages – from rappers and comedians to dancers and kids; contestants needed originality and talent to impress the judges. Show contestants were selected via videotape submissions that wiould be aired as part of each show, and were competing for $10,000 cash, a car from South Coast Toyota in Costa Mesa, a scholarship to the New York Film Academy, and the “Golden Crown” title: “America’s ‘Low Budget’ Superstar.” There was even a prize for the worst performance of the season.
