Apollo Live was the third and final short-lived revamp of the formerly popular syndicated weekend variety show It's Showtime at the Apollo.

Premise[]

The series was an updated version of America's original amateur night competition show from the famed Apollo Theater with funnyman Tony Rock as host. Plus, Grammy Award-Winner Gladys Knight, hip-hop pioneer Doug E. Fresh and R&B hit-maker Michael Bivins were expert talent advisers who gave advice to each hopeful contestant as they aspired to jumpstart their careers.

Trivia[]

Actor and comedian Jamie Foxx was one of the executive producers of this remake.
