Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (born July 30, 1947) is an Austrian-American actor, model, producer, director, activist, businessman, investor, writer, philanthropist, former professional bodybuilder, and politician.
Arnold built up his body when he was 15 years old. Then at 20, he won the title of Mr. Universe. Then went on to be a seven time Mr. Olympia. To this day, he's been highly active in the world of bodybuilding.
In 1969, Arnold became an actor. His first feature film was Hercules in New York where he was credited as Arnold Strong. As more movie credits came his way, Arnold became more noticeable. The 1980s was when he really hit it big. For he starred in three big films; which were two Conan movies (Conan the Barbarian & Conan the Destroyer) and The Terminator. In 1987, two years after the original Family Feud went off the air and one before the new one came to town, Arnold starred in the movie The Running Man where he had to survive an evil game show with a character played by Richard Dawson (a close friend of Schwarzenegger's) as the host. The film was met with mixed reviews, but critics loved Dawson's performance, originally the role of the evil game show host was written for Chuck Woolery who is the same size as Schwarzenegger but Woolery turned it down and Schwarzenegger requested Dawson due to their close friendship. Schwarzenegger also starred in the Terminator movies (coining famous quotes in movie history, such as "Hasta La Vista, Baby!" and "I'll Be Back!") and Kindergarten Cop.
Arnold found time to do TV shows too. In 1973, Arnold was the picking contestant on The New Dating Game. Years later, he was a guest star on Nickelodeon's Wild & Crazy Kids. In later years, he been chosen to become the new host of Celebrity Apprentice, replacing Donald Trump.
In 2003, he made the jump to politics and became the 38th Governor of California, replacing Gray Davis. He served from 2003 to 2011.
