Budget Battle is a reality competition series where a trio of chefs are being challenged to make three courses by spending as little money as possible because their leftover cash determines how much they might have.
Premise[]
Each one-hour episode features four gourmet chefs going head-to-head creating world class meals, but there's a catch: they have to buy their ingredients on a shoestring budget. Thrown into the deep end of the culinary pool, the competitors must shop strategically and out-cook their opponents. Fortune favors the frugal, but flavors reigns supreme as they transform everyday ingredients into five-star meals on home cook's budget. How much does the winning chef take home? $1,000 for every $1 they have left in their budget at the and of the competition. After episode 3, the show introduced “Out of stock” items on the ingredients board, effectively forcing the contestants to purchase another ingredient and the prize money was reduced to $500 for every $1 saved.
