In the fourth quarterfinal game, he faced Grafton Brown and Sally Umbach. He gave 28 correct repsonses (including two DDs) and three wrong responses and entered Final with a lock game. Sally was the only player correct in Final. However, his runaway advanced him to the semifinals, where his opponents scores were insufficient to get a wildcard, eliminating them from the tournament.
In the third semifinal game, he faced Kathy Casavant and Matt Polazzo. He gave 24 right responses and only one wrong response. He and Kathy got Final right and he advanced to the finals.
In the finals, he faced Larry DeMoss and Lori Kissell. In day one, he gave 22 right responses and four wrong responses (including one DD). He and Lori got Final right and he wagered $6,000. In day two, he gave 25 correct responses (including all DDs) and three wrong responses. Final Jeopardy was a Triple Stumper. He was the only player who didn't wager everything and won the first ever Teachers Tournament and $100,000.
Tournament of Champions[]
In the first quarterfinal game, he faced 8-day champion Tom Nissley and 5-day champion Jay Rhee. He gave fifteen right responses and eight wrong responses. He was the only player who did not get Final and is out of the tournament with $5,000.
