Crowd Rules was a short-lived reality game show where small businesses competed before a studio audience for a $50,000 prize.

Gameplay[]

Each week, entrepreneur and jewelry designer Kendra Scott and NY1 anchor Pat Kiernan, along with a weekly guest industry expert, lead the examination of the small businesses in order to help a studio audience choose which company wins the $50,000 grand prize. While the small business owners make their case to the panel of three, the real power lies in the hands of the audience—97 strong—whose votes will ultimately decide which real business is most deserving of the investment.

Trivia[]

On May 30, 2013, The Hollywood Reporter announced that the show has been pulled from CNBC's primetime schedule just after two episodes, the show was replaced by an airing of 60 Minutes on CNBC. since the show opened to a sobering 47,000 total viewers and just 12,000 in the adults 25-45 demographic on May 14, 2013. in its second outing, it retained its demo numbers but fell to a toal of 42,000 viewers. The business-centric cable news network's typical ratings are hardly robust, but a rep went so far as to call Crowd Rules' return "laughable" in the New York Post. However, a CNBC rep confirms to THP (The Hollywood Reporter) that Crowd Rules is off of primetime, it has not been cancelled.[1]
