Face-Off Minnesota (The High School Quiz Bowl Championship) was a quiz bowl for the state of Minnesota.

Premise[]

The show featured teams that were selected by competing in NAQT-written high school quiz tournaments throughout Minnesota. George Leiter and Robert Hentzel were organizers of the event, which was sponsored by Border Foods, the Star Tribune and Twin Cities Public Television. The reader for the event was Ken Jennings (of Jeopardy! fame). The series did not continue for a second year in 2007.

On the first airing the show on May 14, 2006, which were the quarterfinal rounds, Cretin-Derham Hall defends Minnestonka 330-325 and Eden Prairie beat Mounds Park Academy 450-160. On May 21, 2006, Chaska defend Armstrong and St. Thomas Academy defeated DeLaSalle. On May 28, Chaska defeated Cretin-Derham and St. Thomas Academy defeated Eden Prairie to move into the finals, where St. Thomas Academy eventually scored a convincing victory over Chaska High School. The four members of the victorious team were: Josh Mollner, Jack Boyle, Tom Sullivan and Kevin Partington.
