Family Recipe Showdown is a reality competition series where Academy Award winning actress Octavia Spencer hosts a multi-generational home cook competition that celebrates secret family recipes and tradition.
Premise[]
Each one-hour episode features three family duos competing for $10,000 over two rounds of culinary throwdowns, while trying to impress Spencer, Chase and a celebrity guest judge. In the first round, the home cooks must impress Spencer and Chase as their culinary showdown features a theme - from a southern brunch with all the fixings to a top-notch biscuit bakeoff. Two duos move on to the second showdown where they are tasked with putting their own delicious spin on a family favorite recipe of the episode's guest judge. Only one family takes home the win and a $10,000 prize.
