Buzzr

Buzzr is both a former YouTube channel and current multi-station digital TV network of the same name that's devoted to air nothing but classic Fremantle-owned game shows. The brand name itself was inspired by a game show buzzer (or lock-out device) in which contestants use on certain game shows (mainly trivia) in order to guess their answers.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: Notice the "E" is missing in the spelling in order to make the network much more "hip" for today's audiences.

History

YouTube Channel

The Buzzr channel made its debut on YouTube on May 1, 2014. It features semi-revivals of classic Goodson-Todman/Goodson game shows in a more young, hip, loud-mouth manner. The first show revived was Family Feud (despite still being on the air ever since 1999). The next was Password and more recently, Body Language and Beat the Clock. Now just added to the lineup is Celebrity Name Game. In addition, the first three original programs which were Big Batsu, Boyfriend Wars (styled as BF Wars) and Guess That Food were created later on for the channel in 2015.

TV Channel

The BuzzrTV channel made its debut on Fox-owned TV stations on June 1, 2015. As promised, the network is filled with Fremantle's library of game shows, spanning an estimated 40,000 extant episodes in total. The network's initial lineup is expected to include To Tell the Truth, Password, Family Feud (with episodes featuring all hosts prior to the current one), Let's Make a Deal (from Monty Hall's hosting runs), the Match Game, Beat the Clock, What's My Line?, Press Your Luck, Blockbusters, and Card Sharks.

Lawsuit

In 2016, a New York Internet Media company (Codename Enterprises) sued Fremantle over the network's name. (see the "Links" page for details)

Celebrating 75 Years of the TV Game Show (2016)

In conjunction with its anniversary of the genre, the network plans to create a story arc celebrating the genre's 75th year with new episodes of favorable classics along with additional promotions and special marathons all year long. (see Game Show page for details).

Extra Two Hours...In Las Vegas and Denver

KGNG Las Vegas on channel 47.5 (BUZZR's on 47.2) and KCDO-TV in Sterling/Denver on K3 on channel 3.1 (along with its surrounding areas in Denver having access to network's KCDO's OTA channel 3.3) provide two hours of bonus content weekly to those affiliates to air on another sub channel in their frequency. Those two bonus contented shows in particular are the syndicated versions of the short-lived 1986-87 version of Card Sharks hosted by the late Bill Rafferty and the 1999-2002 version of Family Feud formerly hosted by Louie Anderson.

BUZZR After Hours...In Canada

On September 12, 2016, residents who live in Canada can watch a three-hour weekly overnight programming block called "BUZZR After Hours" airing exclusively on YES TV every Monday thru Friday from 1:00 until 4:00 AM featuring a variety of classic vintage black & white and color game shows from FremantleMedia's library including: To Tell the Truth, What's My Line?, I've Got a Secret, Card Sharks (Perry), Sale of the Century (Perry), Beat the Clock (Hall) and Double Dare (Trebek).

BUZZR Casino

In October 2016, Buzzr teamed up with Canadian video game company Ludia to release a mobile slot game app called "Buzzr Casino" named after its primetime block of the same name. Featuring a variety of virtual video slot machines based on their library of classic game shows like: Family Feud, Card Sharks, Press Your Luck, Let's Make a Deal and more.

Game Day 10 Sweepstakes

On January 17, 2017, Buzzr did their "Game Day 10 Sweepstakes" where on the 10th of every month, you can watch the network for the "Buzzr Word of the Day" then you'll enter that word at buzzrplay.com or their Facebook page for your chance to win cool prizes.

Card Sharks Live

On March 21, 2018, a live Facebook version of the classic game show Card Sharks debut hosted by Big Brother alum Nick Uhas where you can submit your answers throughout Facebook live in order for your chance to win prizes.

BUZZR BINGO

On August 26, 2019, Buzzr did their promotional game called "BUZZR BINGO" where you were allowed to watch any of the episodes from their classic Fremantle-owned game shows by marking off any of the moments that appeared on air until August 30, 2019. Their was also a "FREE SPACE" in the middle, once a viewer spotted the five moments in either a diagonal, vertical or horizontal-styled row then they had a "BUZZR BINGO".

Viewers also had the opportunity to visit their website called buzzrtv.com/BINGO to share their bingo squares for a chance to win fun BUZZR prizes.

The event appeared again on April 27, 2020.

The third time happened from April 19-23, 2021.

The fourth time happened from April 25-29, 2022.

Password Triple Play

From August 14 until September 18, 2021, Buzzr had a six-week long event called "Password Triple Play" airing each and every Saturday night where it mainly consisted of episodes from Password Plus, Super Password and for the first time ever on Buzzr Million Dollar Password.

Streaming Sites

In 2017, three very different sites for users featured various classic episodes from FremantleMedia's library. In 2018, Buzzr's very own website streams its own classic episodes including adding a free streaming channel called Pluto TV.

Twitch

Various episodes from this site (like the short-lived '79 revival of Beat the Clock with Monty Hall for example) can be viewed in full. On April 22, 2019, it was announced (via facebook)that Buzzr will not be returning.

LocalBTV

A local affiliate sub-channel called LocalBTV also carries Buzzr in some areas on the streaming service.

Due to the celebration of their third birthday, on June 1, 2018, Buzzr has now their very own website where you were allowed to watch various classic game shows. Go to the "Links" page in order to see it yourself.

Pluto TV

Also In 2018, this free 24/7 streaming internet video service has recently added Buzzr to their channel where you can watch your favorites on iOS, Android, Android TV, Fire TV and Roku as this will give you access to a ever so growing list of game shows from Fremantle's library including: Super Password, Family Feud, Child's Play, Celebrity Name Game, Card Sharks, Supermarket Sweep and many more.

STIRR

Since 2019, a local tv broadcasting company called Sinclair Broadcasting Group launched a new streaming service called STIRR which mostly aims to bring local tv news and other content to the growing number of "cord cutters" all across the U.S. as the company owns more than 190 TV stations, which it's leveraging in order to create its very own "skinny bundle". However, for example, unlike various TV streaming services such as the likes of: Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, Hulu with Live TV or YouTube TV, STIRR will be free and ad-supported instead of paid subscription as one of those services is Buzzr.

Mark Deetjen (1971-2022)

On March 9, 2022, it was announced that the executive producer of Buzzr, Mark Deetjenhad passed away on January 24 at 50 years of age. From Buzzr:

"With profound grief, we share the news Mark Deetjen, EVP of Global Channels at Fremantle, and the GM of BUZZR has passed away. It is an immense loss for all who knew him. Mark was a dedicated family man, a supportive, thoughtful leader, and a game show fan who helped build BUZZR from the beginning. We will miss him greatly."

According to this sourceDeetjen had a simultaneous kidney and pancreas transplant in 2013 to combat his type I diabetes and had survived a heart attack in 2020.

Promotional Stunts

The channel also puts on promotional stunts surrounding holidays and special-themed events. On July 4, 2015, Buzzr announced that they will be airing classic episodes of Body Language, Match Game, Press Your Luck, Card Sharks, Super Password and Password Plus that were originally aired on the 4th of July in their respective years.

On October 5, 2015, the channel announced their new promotion for their Sunday Night lineup block called "Pick & Play" where it allowed viewers to vote from a list of six classic game shows from FremantleMedia's library, which includes: Beat the Clock (Hall), Double Dare (Trebek), Now You See It (Narz), Sale of the Century (Perry) and Wordplay. After the sweepstakes ended on October 12, 2015. The top three most-voted shows would be added to Buzzr's all new Sunday Night lineup block on October 18, 2015. In addition, voters were also eligible to a win grand prize trip to a taping of Let's Make a Deal in Los Angeles, California or Family Feud in Atlanta, Georgia. The block itself featured two episodes of Sale of the Century, Beat the Clock and Double Dare.

Eight years later, the event returned again (known as "Pick & Play SUMMR") on June 30 until July 7, 2023. This time, the matchups include a number of versions that aren't on Buzzr's usual schedule. You're asked to vote on 16 pairs, when you're finished voting, your picks are then presented as "Your Predictions" in a March Madness-styled bracket.

From December 14 to 25, 2015, Buzzr presented a "Betty White Christmas". The block featured various classic game show episodes with actress and game show personality Betty White. In addition, you can also enter a special code for a chance to win Buzzr goodies.

In addition, the event returned again on December 19, 2016.

Also again from December 18, 2017 to December 22, 2017.

On December 17, 2018, a 4th Annual Betty White Christmas was in "8 Days in 71 Episodes".

On December 16, 2019, a 5th Annual Betty White Christmas debut on Buzzr.

On December 21, 2020, a 6th Annual Betty White Christmas debut on Buzzr. This featured new episodes of Match Game (from 1974), TattleTales (from 1976), Password Plus (from 1980) and Super Password (from 1986).

From December 20-25, 2021, a 7th Annual Betty White Christmas debut on Buzzr. This consisted of new episodes of Password Plus, Super Password & Match Game PM plus this also leads up to the "100th Betty Birthday Celebration" or "100th Christmas" as Ms. White herself turns 100 yrs old in January 2022.

From December 19-25, 2022, an 8th Annual Betty White Christmas debut on Buzzr.

From December 15, 2023, an 9th Annual Betty White Christmas debut on Buzzr.

On February 7, 2016, in conjunction with Super Bowl 50, Buzzr aired a special marathon event called the "Buzzr Bowl", featuring five classic episodes of Family Feud with the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders taking on the Dallas Cowboy football players, hosted by Richard Dawson from 1980 and the AFC quarterbacks going head-to-head against the NFC quarterbacks, hosted by Ray Combs from 1993.

On January 30, 2017, in conjunction with Super Bowl LI, the event returned again as "Buzzr Bowl II" featuring an episode of Family Feud hosted by Ray Combs with the San Francisco 49ers playing against the Cincinnati Bengals along with an episode of Match Game '75 featuring the late professional wrestler/football player/actor Alex Karras.

On February 3, 2019, in conjunction with Super Bowl LIII, the event returned again as "Buzzr Bowl III" like the first one in 2016, it features classic episodes of Family Feud with the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders taking on the football players from 1980 hosted by Richard Dawson and the AFC vs NFC quarterbacks from 1993 hosted by Ray Combs.

On February 14, 2016, in celebration of Valentine's Day, the network aired a special-themed marathon called "Love is on the Air" (which in turn is a spoof of the hit 1977 song title called "Love is in the Air" sung by John Paul Young). The marathon features classic episodes of He Said, She Said, TattleTales, Password, Password Plus and Family Feud.

Another one that celebrates Valentine's Day aired on February 14, 2022 from 8 PM - 2 AM EST in which only this time mainly consisted of Valentine's Day-themed episodes of Classic Concentration & Sale of the Century (Perry).

NOTE: This marathon aired on the very same day as The Price is Right at Night episode featuring Justin Hartley & Sofia Pernas as guests stars.

A third one aired on February 13, 2023, featuring episode the 90s revival of The Newlywed Game hosted by Bob Eubanks and Gary Kroeger.

A fourth one aired on February 12, 2024, mainly focused on the 90s revival of The Newlywed Game with Gary Kroeger.

From March 22, 2016 to April 3, 2016, in conjunction with "March Madness" (The NCAA Men's and Women's Division I Basketball Tournaments; not Divisions II or III), the network aired their own tournament called "Buzzr Brackets" where sixteen classic game show hosts who are on the left side column: Monty Hall, Joe Garagiola, Allen Ludden, Pat Sajak, Richard Dawson, Bob Eubanks, Bob Barker and Jim Perry. Take on from the right side column: Gene Rayburn, Peter Tomarken, Tom Kennedy, Jack Narz, Bill Cullen, Bert Convy, Alex Trebek and Ray Combs; go head-to-head against each other just to see who's really got game (literally); in addition, you were also allowed to download your very own Bracket at buzzrplay.com/files/uploads_BUZZR_Bracket and set your picks.

NOTE: Gene Rayburn was the winner of the 2016 Buzzr Brackets tournament.

On April 25, 2016, Buzzr will host a Twitter Q&A session with Bob Eubanks when the 1986-89 version of Card Sharks will began airing that week. In addition, viewers will be able to tweet their own questions to the network by using the hashtag "#cardsharksweek" from April 18 to April 20, 2016.

From May 30, 2016 to June 1, 2016, due to the network's first birthday, Buzzr had their own scratcher game called "The Buzzr Birthday Celebration Scratcher!" where viewers get a chance to enter and win daily prizes just by downloading their own digital scratcher card.

The event returned again in 2017.

On June 12, 2016, due to the Anthony Anderson-hosted revival on ABC, Buzzr aired a marathon of classic episodes of To Tell the Truth. The marathon features five "New-to-Buzzr" vintage episodes including the "never-been-broadcast" original 1956 pilot of Nothing But the Truth hosted by the late Mike Wallace of CBS' 60 Minutes fame.

NOTE: The original 1956 pilot of To Tell the Truth as Nothing But the Truth hosted by Mike Wallace was also re-aired as part of Buzzr's Lost and Found week on September 15, 2017.

In addition, due to the shows' 60th Anniversary celebration, another mini-marathon of To Tell the Truth aired on December 18, 2016.

On June 20-25, 2016, due to the second season premiere of Celebrity Family Feud with Steve Harvey along with the revival of Match Game with Alec Baldwin as part of a Sunday Night primetime block on ABC called "Sunday Fun & Games". Buzzr gave its faithful viewers a "vintage crash course" marathon of two-hour blocks of classic episode of Family Feud and Match Game. As For Feud, they aired their "TV's All-Time Favorite" episode featuring cast members of: Petticoat Junction, Leave It to Beaver, The Brady Bunch and Your Hit Parade along with the Walk of Fame special from 1985 featuring: Mark Goodson, Dorothy Lamour, Cesar Romero and Betty White. As For Match, they aired their "new-to-Buzzr" episodes from 1973. On Saturday, June 25, 2016, the network will rebroadcast these episodes from the week which will segue into ABC's three-hour Sunday Fun & Games block.

On July 1, 2016, in order to continue with its celebration of the genre called "The 75th Anniversary of the TV Game Show" the network gave an all-day marathon of classic episodes of What's My Line?, I've Got a Secret and To Tell the Truth.

On July 31, 2016, the network aired the infamous two part episode of Press Your Luck in which Michael Larson won $110,237 in 1984.

NOTE: Before this, these episodes have aired on GSN not only once but twice, the first time was in the documentary special called Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal hosted by the late Peter Tomarken in 2003 and then again in The 50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time countdown special hosted by Bil Dwyer in 2006.

On August 25, 2016, due to Monty Hall's 95th birthday, the network started airing "new-to-Buzzr" four episodes of Let's Make a Deal along with two episodes of the 1979-80 version of Beat the Clock.

On November 6, 2016, in conjunction of the 2016 election of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton vs. Republican candidate Donald Trump, Buzzr had a "Salute to Politics" marathon special featuring classic "politically-themed" episodes of: Family Feud, To Tell the Truth, I've Got a Secret, Press Your Luck (Tomarken) and Match Game.

On July 9, 2017, Buzzr celebrated Baseball with a "Buzzr All-Stars" marathon for which consisted of baseball-themed episodes of Family Feud (Combs), What's My Line? and both Match Game '75 and '78 respectively.

On October 3-4, 2017, Buzzr did a tribute to Monty Hall due to his death on September 30, 2017. With a mini-marathon of his hit signature creation Let's Make a Deal along with a short-lived 1979-80 revival of Beat the Clock. This is the first time the network did a tribute to the passing of a legendary game show host.

Additionally, the tribute marathon re-aired again on October 7, 2017.

On October 20, 2017, Buzzr aired their first and only original documentary special called Game Changers (produced by Balliran Entertainment and Monkey Tree Media respectively) as it reviewed the history of the TV game show genre and featured interviews with the likes of Alex Trebek, Wink Martindale, and Drew Carey.

This would be repeated again on May 11, 2019...

...And again on June 16, 2019.

On March 12, 2018, Buzzr aired their "Turnabout Tournament Battle of the Hosts" episode of Card Sharks from June of 1980. This episode featured eight classic game show hosts of the genre who are battling out for their favorite charities were: Allen Ludden, Gene Rayburn, Bill Cullen, Wink Martindale, Tom Kennedy, Alex Trebek, Jack Clark, and Jim Lange.

Password Plus also moves to 10pm & 1am from March 12 thru March 27.
Martindale & Lange have never hosted any Goodson-Todman/Goodson game show in their career.

On May 28, 2018, Buzzr aired their Match Game Buzz Misspelling Bee where it features various episodes of Match Game with various celebrities misspelling words on their blue cards (and sometimes the big money "Supermatch") Additionally, viewers were able to find the misspelled word of the day by finding the star on their official Facebook page by liking the page, spelling the words correctly in the comments as you're entered to win.

On May 27, 2019, Buzzr aired their "2nd Annual Match Game Buzzr Bee".

On May 25, 2020, Buzzr aired their "3rd Annual Match Game Buzzr Bee".

On November 25, 2018, Buzzr aired a marathon of The Great Christmas Light Fight season 1 in order to celebrate their new season on ABC...

...On November 28, 2019, Buzzr aired a season 2 marathon of TGCLF in the celebration of Thanksgiving Day.

On January 6, 2019, Buzzr aired a "Match Game Time Machine Marathon" featuring pilots from 1962 & 1973, a 1964 all-star episode and two episodes from 1973 to 1979 (all hosted by Gene Rayburn of course) including an episode of the 2016 reboot with Alec Baldwin.

NOTE:
Both the 1962 and 1973 pilots were also seen on Game Show Network's "Match Game Merry Blank-a-Thon" in 2012 and Buzzr's 1st annual "Lost & Found" week in 2015.

On February 17, 2019, Buzzr aired a "Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour Marathon" featuring episodes 2 thru 5 of the short-lived NBC daytime game show called The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour hosted by the late Gene Rayburn and Jon Bauman who is most commonly known as Bowzer of Sha Na Na fame.

NOTE: This hour-long show has never been in reruns for 35 years due to the joint ownership of Match Game (Fremantle) and Hollywood Squares (MGM).

On March 8, 2019, in celebration of International Women's Day Buzzr aired brand new episodes of favorite classics where it centers mostly around females in game shows including an episode of the original The Price is Right where Arlene Francis subs for Bill Cullen along with episodes of Body Language, Match Game, Match Game PM, To Tell the Truth (Ward), What's My Line? (Bruner & Daly), I've Got a Secret where Betsy Palmer subs for Garry Moore, Password Plus, Super Password, Supermarket Sweep (Ruprecht), and episodes of Family Feud hosted by Richard Dawson from 1995.

On March 2, 2024, in celebration of Women's History Month, Buzzr did a marathon called "Winning Women" where it consisted of "winning players, winning hosts and winning stars" featuring classic episodes of: Super Password, Family Feud (Dawson '94 & Combs), Match Game (Rayburn), Password Plus, What's My Line?, Password (Ludden), The Price is Right (Arlene Francis hosted episode), I've Got a Secret (Moore), Card Sharks (Eubanks), To Tell the Truth (O'Hurley & 90s), Body Talk & Body Language.

On April 1, 2019, Buzzr aired their "Celebrity Tournament" Edition of Card Sharks. The celebrities that have appeared in the tournament includes: Avery Schreiber, Greg Mullavey, Marcia Wallace, Mary Ann Mobley, Ross Martin, Vicki Lawrence, Bill Daily, and Meredith MacRae.

NOTE:
The only two celebrities that are still with us are Lawrence and Mullavey respectively while Schreiber, Wallace, Mobley, Martin, Daily and MacRae are no longer living.

Due to Tax Day, on April 14, 2019, Buzzr aired a marathon called "Press Your Luck's Whammy's Biggest Whammies" where contestants are supposed to be some of the biggest losers to the Whammy. Nearly of all these episodes are mostly either from 1984, 1985 or 1986 and they were announced by either the late Rod Roddy or Charlie O'Donnell.

Due to their primetime reboot debuts on ABC, on June 8, 2019, Buzzr aired their 4th annual Birthday Bash with two retro episodes of Press Your Luck (from 1985), Card Sharks (from 1988) and Match Game (from 1978).

NOTE: Contestants Cookie Young (now Cathy Cisneros) and Christina (now who goes by Chris) Carter from the episodes of Press Your Luck and Card Sharks respectively could be seen in summer 2019. As of which both will become contestants again in the primetime reboots with Elizabeth Banks and Joel McHale respectively 30+ years later.

On June 23, 2019, Buzzr aired an eight episode marathon of the original version of The Price is Right hosted by Bill Cullen.

On June 30, 2019, in celebration of National Pride Month, Buzzr aired a collection of classic vintage game shows highlighting famous faces that are near and dear to the LGBTQ community such as: Charles Nelson Reilly, Wesley Eure, Jim J. Bullock, Lily Tomlin, Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland and more.

On July 28, 2019, Buzzr aired a marathon called "Christmas in July" which consisted of "Christmas-themed" episodes of Password Plus (from 1979), Match Game (from both 1977 and 1978), Card Sharks (from 1978), and Sale of the Century (from 1988).

On November 10, 2019, Buzzr celebrates veterans by having their own marathon called "Buzzr's Veterans Sunday Salute" which mainly features the many brave, devoted and dedicated men and women of the armed forces appearing on episodes of classic game shows such as Beat the Clock (Collyer), I've Got a Secret (Moore), Card Sharks (Eubanks), and Family Feud (Combs).

On November 8, 2020, Buzzr did their second "Buzzr's Veterans Sunday Salute" with 1990's syndicated episode of Comb's Family Feud with The Army, The Navy and The Marines playing The Feud.

On November 7, 2021, Buzzr did their third "Buzzr's Veterans Sunday Salute" with 1991 episodes of Comb's Family Feud featuring the brave, daring & courageous men & women of the Armed Forces, U.S. Marines, U.S. Army and more.

On November 11, 2022, Buzzr did their "Buzzr's Veterans Day Salute" with Armed Forces-themed episodes of Match Game with Ross Shafer and Family Feud with Richard Karn.

NOTE: "Technically" this is their fourth attempt in general although this has never aired on a Sunday.

On November 11, 2023, Buzzr did another "Veterans Day Salute" marathon with military-themed episodes of Family Feud with Richard Karn and Card Sharks with Bob Eubanks.

On November 29, 2019, in order to celebrate Black Friday, Buzzr does a marathon called Black Friday Frenzy where it consisted on various episodes of Sale of the Century (Perry), its very unwelcomed and universally despised reboot Temptation and Supermarket Sweep (Ruprecht).

On November 27, 2020, the event happened again on Buzzr but only this time it consisted of 1986 episodes of The All-New Let's Make a Deal (Hall) along with "new" episodes of Supermarket Sweep (Ruprecht) and Sale of the Century (Perry).

On November 26, 2021, Buzzr reminded us that its "time to get your "sale" on" with a Black Friday Frenzy marathon of Sale of the Century (Perry) airing from 7:30 PM-2:00 AM mainly featuring episodes from 1989.

On November 25, 2022, Buzzr did a marathon that featured back-to-back episodes of Supermarket Sweep (Ruprecht) where contestants get a second chance at redemption.

On November 24, 2023, Buzzr did a marathon featuring back-to-back episodes of Sale of the Century (Perry) and Supermarket Sweep (Ruprecht).

On January 12, 2020, Buzzr does a marathon of Body Language before its return to the schedule on January 19.

On February 9 and 14, 2020, in celebration of Valentine's Day, Buzzr did a marathon called "Love at First Sight" featuring episodes of Password featuring the late Allen Ludden and Betty White from 1980, Sale of the Century celebrating "Salute to True Romance" week from 1988, the never-before-seen syndicated version of TattleTales featuring Joan Collins, Ron Cass, the late John Ritter and Nancy Morgan from 1977 and new-to-the-network, the short-lived syndicated dating game show Bzzz! hosted by Annie Wood from 1996.

On February 16, 2020, as a tribute to the late comedic actor and game show panelist Orson Bean, Buzzr did a two-hour marathon that was dedicated to his passing with episodes of Super Password from 1984 and Match Game (more specifically, Match Game '77) from 1977 airing from 8PM-10PM EST and was repeated again from 11PM to 1AM EST.

On March 17, 2020, because of St. Patrick's Day, Buzzr did an all-day marathon called "Lucky Day Marathon" as of which consisted of lucky wins of contestants from various classic game shows such as Classic Concentration, Card Sharks (Perry & Eubanks), Supermarket Sweep (Ruprecht), Super Password, Sale of the Century (Perry), Match Game, Password Plus, The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour, Split Second (Hall), and The All-New Let's Make a Deal.

On June 13, 2020, in order to celebrate their 5th birthday, Buzzr did their their "Birthday Bash" featuring episodes from: Classic Concentration, Match Game, Password Plus, Super Password, Card Sharks, Press Your Luck and The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour.

On July 5, 2020, Buzzr aired their Red, White & Bloopers marathon where it involved with mishaps from classic game shows from: Match Game, The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour, Concentration, Classic Concentration, Super Password, Family Feud, Password Plus, Card Sharks, Let's Make a Deal, and Password.

NOTE: The title of this special was a parody of the annual patriotic term Red, White & Blue.

On August 8, 2020, in order to celebrate the life and legacy of the formerly late popular comedienne Lucille Ball. Buzzr aired a marathon called Buzzr Loves Lucy where it features her many appearances on classic game shows such as: What's My Line?, I've Got a Secret, Password, Password Plus, Body Language and Super Password.

NOTE: The title of the marathon is a reference to her popular 1951-1957 hit sitcom I Love Lucy.

From October 12-16, 2020, Buzzr had a Super Duper Super Password Week in which the people at home try to find circled words to solve a Buzzr made Password to win cool prizes.

On October 17, 2020, In order to commemorate the upcoming ABC reboot hosted by comedienne, former Saturday Night Live/SNL cast members and star of the rebooted (and really quite controversial) 2016 reboot of the 80s beloved classic film Ghostbusters (more specifically Ghostbusters: Answer the Call) Leslie Jones. Buzzr had a Supermarket Sweep Marathon that aired from 8:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. EST where it mainly consisted of classic "New-to-Buzzr" episodes from 1993 and 2002 Ruprecht respectively.

On October 24, 2020, Due to his passing on October 7, 2020. Buzzr did a marathon as a tribute to the late Tom Kennedy that aired from 4pm to 2am EST which mainly consisted episodes of Body Language, To Tell the Truth with Garry Moore and Password Plus.

On November 14, 2020, Due to the suffering from pancreatic cancer (more specifically stage IV pancreatic cancer) Buzzr did a tribute to the late Alex Trebek by having a marathon of Card Sharks (re-showing the game show host tournament from 1980), Classic Concentration and To Tell the Truth (1990). Additionally, Buzzr has partnered up with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to help raise funds and support their critical life-saving research initiatives.

NOTE:

On November 13, 2020, the all classics television network MeTV aired their mini tribute marathon to Trebek by airing a 1988 episode of the sitcom Mama's Family called "Mama on Jeopardy!" and the 1990 episode of the sitcom Cheers called "What is...Cliff Clavin?" where it mainly focused on both Thelma Harper and Cliff Clavin (played by Vicki Lawrence and John Ratzenberger respectively) competing on an episode of Jeopardy! as the main plot device.

The Buzzr marathon also aired on the same day as the return of The Price is Right with Bill Cullen and GSN's tribute to Trebek with a Jeopardy! marathon. Speaking of GSN, they also did video messages featuring various former Jeopardy! champions and hosts of GSN Originals making a brief appearance in order to pay tribute to Trebek inlcluding: Ken Jennings, Muffy Marracco, Johnathan Corbblah, Joey Fatone, John Michael Higgins, Arianna Haut, Brooke Burns and Rob Belushi.

On December 31, 2020, Buzzr does a marathon called "Blank in the New Year" where it mainly focused on classic episodes of Match Game changing their year signs ('73-'79) as we the viewers bring in the new year of 2021.

NOTES:
As seen in the card, it aired on New Years Eve.
A similar marathon aired on GSN back in the 90s.

On February 27, 2021, in celebration of Black History Month, Buzzr had a marathon called "African American Greats" featuring influential African American leaders, innovator and pioneers who made history by helping to create a better tomorrow.

The event happened again on February 26, 2022. featuring appearances with athlete Jesse Owens on What's My Line?, the Tuskegee Airmen on To Tell the Truth, Brian Stokes Mitchell on Body Language, and Dionne Warwick on Super Password.

The event happened for its third time on February 26, 2023. Featuring appearances such as a Lynn Swann hosted episode of To Tell the Truth, Odetta on What's My Line?, jazz bagpipist Rufus Harley on I've Got a Secret, Ruby Dee on What's My Line?, Scoey Mitchell on Super Password, Cab Calloway on Beat the Clock, Evelyn Ashford on Family Feud & Kim Fields on Body Language.

On February 3, 2024, Buzzr had a brand new weekend marathon called "Black Game Show Greats", featuring African-American celebrities who made circuits around the game show world such as: Beat the Clock (Narz & Hall), To Tell the Truth (Moore, Swann, Ward & Collyer), I've Got a Secret (Allen), Password (Ludden), What's My Line? (Bylden & Daly), TattleTales, Family Feud (Dawson & Combs), Super Password & Password Plus (Ludden).

On March 19, 2021, as their answer to "April Fool's Day", Buzzr had a marathon called "National Let's Laugh Day" (or "Let's Laugh Day") as its starts at 8am ET but then at 6pm ET, it features "New to Buzzr" classic episodes of Match Game followed by the premiere of the 1984 ABC primetime special TV's Funniest Game Show Moments hosted by Star Trek's Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner.

NOTES:
The special has been aired on Game Show Network/GSN twice, the first time was on December 14, 2014 then again on January 21, 2018.
The special "encores" itself again on March 21, 2021.

Another one of these marathons aired again on March 19, 2022 featuring the premiere of the 1985 ABC primetime special TV's Funniest Game Show Moments #2 where once again is hosted by Star Trek's Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner. Additionally, it also features hilariously classic episodes of Match Game, Password Plus (the infamous France/French episode) and Super Password (the infamous episode where the late Bert Convy breaks the magic toaster).

NOTES:
The special has not been re-aired nor seen on television in 37 years.
On GSN, the special was originally going to air on January 28, 2018 but was pulled at the last minute in favor of a rerun of Cover Story: The Press Your Luck Scandal.
A rerun of the special aired on March 20 as an "encore presentation".

On May 16, 2021, Buzzr had a marathon where it mainly pays tribute to the performing arts called "Broadway Matinee" (airing from 3pm EST - 7pm EST) to the many male & female stars of the theatre such as: Julie Andrews, Stephen Sondheim, Chita Rivera, Joel Grey, Florence Henderson, Bob Holiday & Larry Kent whom all have made an appearance on classic game shows such as: Password, I've Got a Secret, and What's My Line? in both the original and '68 versions respectively.

On June 5, 2021, in order to celebrate the network's six year milestone Buzzr had its annual "Birthday Bash" marathon where its main theme was "going through the decades" of both classic & new game shows including: Password ("60s"), Match Game ("70s"), Sale of the Century ("80s"), Classic Concentration & To Tell the Truth [Swann] ("90s"), Million Dollar Password ("00s"), and Celebrity Name Game ("10s").

NOTE: Not only the marathon was active but this was quite possibly where its new logo for the network might've debut. However, the transition of the new logo debuted on June 7, 2021.

On July 17, 2021, due to the Olympics, Buzzr had a marathon called "Buzzr's Fun Run" where it features classic episodes from Family Feud (circa 1985), Super Password & Card Sharks (circa 1988). These mainly features famous athletic contestants competing.

NOTE: This was the first marathon that uses the current 2021 logo.

On September 5, 2021, Buzzr offered a "preview marathon" with just only six episodes of the short-lived, cult classic game show Whew! from 4PM-7PM EST before its official debut on September 6, 2021.

NOTE: This was the first acquired classic to ever be aired on Labor Day.

From October 18-22, 2021, Buzzr had a "Super Duper Supermarket Sweep" week where viewers at home try to find the clue ingredients and solve the recipe along with playing in their Instagram page where they could win daily prizes and a chance at a $500 gift card.

On January 8, 2022, in celebrating the life of the beloved iconic actress, animal lover & frequent game show panelist Betty White Buzzr does a marathon featuring her appearances on Match Game & Match Game PM. On January 16, Password, Password Plus & Super Password comes into play and finally on January 17, a third & final marathon featuring Ms. White's appearances that span from 1972 to 2016 were To Tell the Truth, Trivia Trap, Whew! & more.

NOTES:
The marathon was originally scheduled for January 15, 2022 in order to celebrate her 100th birthday, but sadly, she never reached that goal in her life since Ms. White has passed away on December 31, 2021 at the age of 99.

It's rival Game Show Network also did a tribute marathon to Betty as well with a marathon of Match Game airing from 9 AM-5 PM. Then on her 100th birthday (in heaven) its The $25,000 Pyramid from 9 AM-1 PM (with an hour of Match Game after that) from 1-1:30 PM.

On May 21, 2022, Buzzr had a kin folk themed marathon called "Family Fun Day" where it mainly featured siblings appearing on classic game shows featuring: Classic Concentration (Twins Week), Family Feud (From Nashville, a week of charity matches between the Statler Brothers & the Mandrell Sisters) & Password Plus (Tom Kennedy welcomes brother Jack Narz & Steven Ford).

NOTE: An episode of the short-lived variety show from the 80s called Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters had their own spoof of the Feud called Feuding Families where the three Mandrell sisters played against the three Statler Brothers hosted by Richie Kissy played by bass singer of The Statlers Harold Ried. Ried passed away on April 24, 2020 after a long battle with kidney failure.

In order to celebrate their 7th Anniversary. On May 29, 2022, Buzzr had an annual marathon called "Buzzr Birthday Bash" where it consisted by the acquisition of a short-lived 1988-90 game show from Canada called Talk About (later known as Celebrity Talk About) hosted by Wayne Cox before permanently joining the lineup later on May 30, 2022.

NOTE: This was the first game show from Canada to be acquired for the network. Additionally, this will also premiere on Memorial Day when it moves permanently to its lineup.

On July 18, 2022, Buzzr did a limited-time-only, two-hour marathon title the "Let's Make a Deal-A-Thon" as of which mainly features episodes from the shorter-lived 1984-86 version called The All-New Let's Make a Deal hosted by the late Monty Hall airing weekdays from 7-9PM ET as it starts from the beginning of the run.

NOTE: This was in favor due to a Let's Make a Deal channel on Pluto TV that is devoted to the current Wayne Brady version 24/7. It debuted on July 11, 2022.

On August 8, 2022, Buzzr did a summer-themed marathon "appropriately" titled "Password Summer Beach Party", consisting classic episodes of Super Password (with Marc Summers), Password Plus (sub-hosted by the late Bill Cullen) and the completely forgotten 1971-75 version of Password (featuring the late Brett Somers and her husband the late Jack Klugman from 1971).

NOTES:
This is the second time the Somers/Klugman episode have been aired, sixteen years ago, the first time was on Game Show Network/GSN in 2006.
This marathon was due to the current NBC reboot with Keke Palmer as of which premiered on August 9, 2022.

In order to celebrate the show's 50th Anniversary, on September 5, 2022, Buzzr did an all week marathon of the original 1956-65 version of The Price is Right hosted by the late Bill Cullen.

NOTE: Before this, Pluto TV did a marathon based on the Barker version on September 4, 2022, consisting of only 17 episode featuring some of the biggest showcase wins including Double Showcase Winners along with winning record breakers.

From October 3-10, 2022, Buzzr had a themed-marathon dedicated to game show personality Bob Eubanks called "Bob-Tober" where Eubanks curates and shares memories from some of his personal favorite game shows such as: Card Sharks (1986 version), Trivia Trap, The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour, Family Feud (more specifically All-Star Family Feud Special), and of course his hit signature game show The Newlywed Game.

NOTE: This was the first marathon to celebrate the month of Halloween in general.

The event happened again on October 16, 2023.

. NOTE: This aired the same day as the third season premiere of the reality dating series FBOY Island airing on The CW (originally HBO Max for two seasons).

From October 29-31, 2022, Buzzr had a Halloween themed-marathon called "Halloween Chills & Thrills" airing from 4pm until 7pm featuring Halloween-themed episodes of To Tell the Truth (Moore), What's My Line? (Daly), Password (Ludden), I've Got a Secret (Allen), Beat the Clock (Hall), Press Your Luck (Tomarken), Body Language, Super Password, Match Game (Shafer) & Family Feud (Dawson, Combs & Karn).

NOTE: Technically, this was the second marathon to celebrate the month of Halloween in general.

Another edition of the "Halloween Chills + Thrills" marathon aired from October 28 until 31, 2023. Featuring classic episodes of: Sale of the Century (Perry), To Tell the Truth (Moore & Swann), What's My Line? (Bruner), I've Got a Secret (Moore), Family Feud (Dawson, Combs, Karn & O'Hurley) & The Newlywed Game (90s version featuring an appearance of Elvira as co-host).

NOTES:
This marathon features a Halloween-themed episode of Dawson's Feud from 1977 that has not been seen in over 46 years along with being the first appearance of a 70s Dawson episode on Buzzr.
Despite being a Halloween episode, this was the first time the O'Hurley version of Feud has been aired on Buzzr.

On January 27, 2023, Buzzr had a hair-themed marathon called "Big Wig Day" airing from 12:00p to 4:00p ET/9:00a to 1:00p PT mainly featuring celebrities and stars on classic game shows with all the hairdos, hairdon'ts and hairspray toupees by wearing crazy fun wigs in eight hair-themed episodes such as: Family Feud (Dawson Syn.), Match Game (Rayburn Syn. & PM), Super Password, Body Language, What's My Line? (Bruner), and TattleTales.

From March 6-10, 2023, Buzzr had a marathon celebrating the Oscars called "Movie Awards Weeks" airing from 4:00p to 6:00p ET. On Monday, it consisted of: What's My Line? ('70 & '71) & To Tell the Truth ('01). On Tuesday, it consisted of: What's My Line? ('57), Password ('62) & To Tell the Truth ('68). On Wednesday, it consisted of: To Tell the Truth ('70), What's My Line? ('65 & '69), and TattleTales ('77). On Thursday, it consisted of Match Game ('73 and '76), Password Plus, and Super Password. On Friday, it consisted of only three episodes of What's My Line? from 1956 & 1967 respectively. On March 11, 2023, the episodes repeated again from 12:00p to 4:00p ET.

NOTES:
This was the same day of the premiere of a new TMZ produced test run game show Who the Bleep is That? hosted by Jeff Dye.
This would be the first time that Buzzr has ever aired the O'Hurley version of Truth.

From April 10 until 14, 2023, Buzzr had a long week marathon called "College Spring Break Week" where it consisted of "College Week"-themed episodes of Sale of the Century (Perry), Classic Concentration, Card Sharks (Eubanks) & Family Feud (Combs).

NOTE: All 15 will be replayed in a daylong binge on April 15 starting at 12:00p.

On April 15, 2024; Buzzr had another marathon stunt called "Spring Break Getaway" featuring various Spring Break-themed episodes of Classic Concentration, Card Sharks (Eubanks), Press Your Luck (Tomarken) and both the NBC and Syndicated versions of Sale of the Century (Perry).

In the celebration of Mother's Day, Buzzr had a marathon called "TV Moms Week" where it consisted of classic celebrity actresses whom played famous mothers on classic TV series such as Florence Henderson (Carol Brady from The Brady Bunch) on Family Feud (Dawson), Lucille Ball (Lucy Ricardo from I Love Lucy) on Password Plus & Super Password, Thelma (a.k.a. "Mama") & Eunice Harper (From "The Family" skit of The Carol Burnett Show & Mama's Family respectively) on Password Plus and Isabel Sandford & Shirley Jones (Louise "Weezy" Jefferson & Shirley Partridge from The Jeffersons & The Partridge Family respectively) on TattleTales.

NOTE: This aired the same day as the ABC Primetime tournament spinoff series Jeopardy! Masters hosted by G.O.A.T Ken Jennings.

From June 1 until 4 2023, in celebration of the genre, Buzzr declared the event as "National Game Show Day" where it celebrates the genre from 12:00p to 12:00a such as the "Biggest Winners" (6/1) with shows such as Sale of the Century (Perry), Blockbusters (Cullen), Card Sharks (Eubanks), The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour, Classic Concentration, Press Your Luck (Tomarken) and Million Dollar Password. "Most Iconic Game Show Moments" (6/2) from Press Your Luck (Tomarken), Match Game (Rayburn), Password Plus (Kennedy), Super Password, To Tell the Truth (Moore), Classic Concentration and Family Feud (Dawson & Combs). "Game Shows by Decade" (6/3) such as The Price is Right (Cullen), What's My Line? (Daly), Password (Ludden), Match Game (Rayburn), Card Sharks (Perry), Blockbusters (Cullen), Child's Play, Classic Concentration, Match Game (Shafer) & Family Feud (Combs). Finally, our "Viewers Choose the Schedule" (6/4).

NOTES: This aired the same day as The Price is Right: The Carey Era on Pluto TV.
The "Viewers Choose the Schedule" could be from the voting process of "Bob vs. Bob vs. Bob" (Bob Eubanks hosted shows), "One & Done" (Series premieres and finales) and "Buzzr's Beginnings" (Day 1 inspired).

In order to celebrate its 40th Anniversary, on September 16, 2023, Buzzr aired a 40-episode marathon of the original Press Your Luck that aired for two days from September 16 until 17, 2023.

Despite his passing at the age of 99, on December 4 until 9, 2023 Buzzr wanted to "Celebrate the Legend" of "Bob Barker" with "8 Days of Bob" featuring classic episodes of: Match Game (Rayburn), TattleTales & Family Feud (Combs), including the hour-long special called The Price is Right: A Tribute to Bob Barker.

In order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the much-beloved classic, on January 13, 2024; Buzzr had a marathon appropriately titled "Let's Make a Deal 60th: 60 Years of Deal" where it only consisted of The All-New Let's Make a Deal hosted by the late Monty Hall.

Lost & Found

Since September 2015, every year Buzzr presents their annual special week or day called Lost & Found, which features pilots & rarely seen shows as well as episodes featuring some of your favorite celebrities. According to the promo, it claims that "Beneath an abandoned podium" and "Behind the phantom door #4, is a secret place called Buzzr Lost & Found".

NOTE: There was no 7th Annual "Lost & Found" event in Fall 2022, as it will now take place in Winter 2023.

• 1st Annual - From September 7 to 12, 2015, the very first block featured rarely seen shows from FremantleMedia's library, including unaired pilots like: Play for Keeps, Star Words, TKO, On a Roll, Body Talk and the 1992 pilot of the Family Feud Challenge along with the short-lived shows of: Beat the Clock (1979-80 version), Now You See It (1974-75 version), Double Dare (1976-77 version), Body Language and Child's Play. In addition, the block also had original pilots of long-running shows like Match Game and Let's Make a Deal.

NOTES:
The 1963 pilot of Let's Make a Deal was the first game show to be aired on Buzzr. Prior to this, the 1963 pilot of LMAD was also aired during their "Let's Make a Deal-a-thon" in 2001 while both the 1962 pilot of The Match Game and the 1973 pilot of Match Game aired on "Match Game's Merry Blank-a-Thon" in 2012 on Game Show Network/GSN respectively in both their LMAD and MG respective occasional marathons at the time.
Buzzr has also aired both the 1962 & 1973 pilots of Match Game again as part of their "Match Game Time Machine Marathon" in 2019.
Although a clip of the pilot for Take Your Choice hosted by the late Fred Allen aired in the promo, the pilot itself was never aired during that week. Six years later, the pilot in full aired as part of their sixth annual "Lost & Found" marathon on September 25, 2021.

• 2nd Annual - Two years later, the special event week returned again from September 11-15, 2017, this time it featured pilots of short-lived shows (and some pilots that have been seen in the first L&F) such as: Make the Connection, Choose Up Sides, Wordplay, Trivia Trap, Missing Links, Winner Take All, It's News To Me, The Match Game, Play for Keeps!, Body Talk, Star Words and the original 1956 pilot of To Tell the Truth as Nothing But the Truth. In addition, this special week featured an episode of the short-lived syndicated reality/talk hybrid show called Richard Simmons' Dream Maker.

NOTES:
The original 1956 pilot of To Tell the Truth as Nothing But the Truth hosted by Mike Wallace also aired on Buzzr's To Tell the Truth Marathon in 2016.
Four years later, the second time Make the Connection would air was their sixth annual "Lost & Found" in 2021.

• 3rd Annual - A third "Lost & Found" event (known in the promo as "3rd Annual Lost & Found" as you see the pics below) aired on September 29 to 30, 2018 featuring shows such as To Tell the Truth (Moore), Password, What's My Line? (Blyden) , What's My Line? at 25, Classic Concentration, I've Got a Secret (Allen), He Said She Said and The Better Sex.

NOTES:
This was the first marathon to show their annual number in the promo, the 1st & 2nd annuals from 2015 & 2017 respectively never had it.
Before the event, three years ago, What's My Line? at 25 had aired on GSN on December 24, 2014 at midnight.

• 4th Annual - A fourth "Lost & Found" event (known in the promo as "4th Annual Lost & Found") aired on September 28 to 29, 2019 featuring shows such as Password Plus (Ludden), Child's Play, TattleTales, Card Sharks (1986 version), The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour, Press Your Luck (Tomarken), To Tell the Truth (70s and 90s versions) and Match Game as these mainly focused on future celebrities such as Kirstie Alley, Jeff Cohen, Breckin Meyer, Meg Ryan, Kelly Packard, Howie Mandel, Jenny Jones, Anderson Cooper, Michael Flatley and Brianne Leary as they all have appeared on game shows when they were unknown at the time.

NOTE:
This was the first "Lost & Found" event that show the logo at a different angle in the promo.

• 5th Annual - A fifth "Lost & Found" event aired on September 27, 2020. All the featured six shows are in black and white from the 1950s and 1960s respectively are from Mark Goodson & Bill Todman and are extremely rare. The shows were: Call My Bluff, Number Please, Say When!!, Get the Message, Split Personality and What's Going On?. The years of these shows range from 1954 to 1965.

NOTE:
Some of these rare Goodson-Todman shows were also seen on GSN at one point in time such as: Number Please, Get the Message and What's Going On?.

• 6th Annual - A sixth "Lost & Found" event aired on September 25, 2021. This features a mixture of never-before-seen unsold pilots and rare shows from the library of Goodson-Todman & Bud Austin/Burt Sugarman/Jay Wolpert which are It Had to Be You, Take Your Choice, Make the Connection, Whew!, Mindreaders and Showoffs.

NOTES:
Six years ago, a clip of Take Your Choice aired in a promo for their 1st Lost & Found week in 2015.
This was the second time Make the Connection has aired for their annual "Lost & Found" marathon, its first time was their 2nd annual in 2017.
This was the first marathon that a rare classic game show (i.e. Whew!) has aired for two episodes in their schedule.
This was the first "Lost & Found" marathon that uses the current Buzzr logo.

• 7th Annual - A seventh "Lost & Found" event aired on January 16-20, 2023. Featuring a mixture of black & white shows, previously seen and never before seen pilots of sold & unsold shows, plus some shows that haven't aired on the network yet such as Winner Take All, Choose Up Sides (Kennedy CBS Pilot), It's News To Me (Daly), Strike it Rich (Garagiola), Double Dare (all three '76 pilots), Make the Connection, Play for Keeps!, Play Your Hunch, Beat the Clock (Wood), To Tell the Truth (Ward), Star Words (pilots #2 & #3) & On a Roll (pilot #2 only).

NOTES:
This was the first time the event moved to Winter as it usually airs in the Fall.
