Jeopardy!/Intro Logos

Jeopardy! has had many introductions over the years. On this page, you'll get to see the snapshots from 1984 and onward.

Season 1 (September 10, 1984-August 30, 1985) Weekend Repeats (September 7, 1985-August 30, 1986)

The logo was changed to its current form when the show returned in syndication in 1984 with Alex Trebek hosting. During the first season of the syndicated version, the logo was rotating around a blue globe superimposed on the screen.

In early 1985, the sphere was in light blue and the letters on the sphere became red. This version of the opening lasted into the first two months of the 2nd season.

Season 2 (September 2, 1985-August 29, 1986) Weekend Repeats (September 6, 1986-September 5, 1987)

The globe intro from the 2nd half of season 1 was used for the brand new set.

Shortly after the start of Season 2, the introduction had a white sphere and red letters.

Seasons 3-7 (September 1, 1986-August 30, 1991) Weekend Repeats (September 12, 1987-September 5, 1992)

The globe intro used during the first two months of the 3rd season. Yellow letters are on a light blue sphere with black lines divided into squares. It rotates at warp speed.

The globe intro used from November 1986 to July 1991. Yellow letters are on a teal sphere with black lines divided into squares. It rotates at normal speed.

Seasons 8-9 (September 2, 1991-September 3, 1993) Weekend Repeats (September 12, 1992-September 3, 1994)

The updated globe intro used during the first two seasons with the grid set. A blue sphere with the gold letters spins around slowly and shatters into pieces as the theme music begins. This was used for the Season 8's camera pan.

This was used for season 9's camera pan.

Season 10 (September 6, 1993-July 22, 1994) Weekend Repeats (September 10, 1994-September 2, 1995)

The 10th Anniversary logo with globe included.

Seasons 11-12 (September 5, 1994-August 30, 1996) Weekend Repeats (September 9, 1995-August 30, 1997)

The logo used from Season 11 & for the first three months of Season 13. Similar to that of the UK version.

This globe alternated with the one from Season 11. This was used from Season 12.

Season 13 (September 2, 1996-August 29, 1997) Weekend Repeats (September 6, 1997-September 5, 1998)

Beginning with the December 19, 2023 episode during the Second Chance Tournament, Jeopardy! has a new opening sequence showing a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Jeopardy!, such as the lights dimming and coming on, a shot of the Jeopardy! logo, a shot of the cameraman, a closeup of the television camera, a shot of the fingers counting, shots of the crew members, contestants entering the studio, a closeup of the jacket that has "Johnny" written on it as Johnny Gilbert puts his jacket on, announcer Johnny Gilbert introducing the show, host Ken Jennings making his entrance and going straight to the set, and another shot of the crew members, the Jeopardy! logo zooms out with the globe showing on the right side of the screen instead of the center. Finally, the Jeopardy! logo zooms forward, revealing the 2013-present set.
