Flippo's Screen Test was an interactive game show based on television trivia for the Columbus area. People could play along to win cash. The catch was that the amount of money was lowered by the number of correct guesses submitted.
Gameplay[]
Two contestants (along with local viewers) competed in a game of movie and television trivia. The game was played in three rounds.
Round 1[]
The first round was a speed round where the contestants buzz in to answer as many questions as possible in one minute. Each correct answer was worth 10 points. Before the round started the viewers at home would use their QUBE consoles to decide which contestant would score the most points, by pressing button #1 or #2, each earning the same number of points as their choice of contestant.
Round 2[]
In the second round, Flippo asked five questions, each with three possible choices. The viewers decided which answer they thought was correct by pushing button #1, #2, or #3, on their consoles. The studio contestants were asked the same question; the catch was that they couldn't see any of the choices. Anyone who was correct scored 20 points (40 points for the viewers if both studio contestants got it wrong).
Final Round[]
In this round, Flippo asked six questions with five possible answers. The viewers again made their choice by pressing button #1, #2, #3, #4, or #5. What made this round unique is that the percentage of viewers who got the question wrong determined the value of the question (for example: If 48% of the viewers were wrong, the question would be worth 48 points). Everyone who chose the correct answer scored that many points.
At the end of the game, the studio contestant with the highest score won the game and received a grand prize. The other contestant went home with a consolation prize.
Tournament of Champions[]
At the end of the season, the 32 winning contestants with the highest scores competed in a tournament of champions, in which the winner would receive a trip to Hollywood for a tour of Warner Bros. Studios. In addition, that contestant (and the viewer who scored the most points during the tournament) received a part in a Warner Bros. show.
