Fremantle is a subdivision of Bertelsmann's RTL Group.
Fremantle had a few incarnations before it became what it is today. It was first called LBS Communications (formerly Lexington Broadcast Service Company) from 1976 to 1992, then it became All American Television (later known as All American Communications) from 1981 until 1998, then it became Pearson Television from 1996 until 2001 and then FremantleMedia North America from 2001 until 2018.
