NEWTON: “What’s definitely exciting, kind of new, and not just a box game? It’s…”

CHILDREN: FUNGLISH!

Funglish was a run-thru that was based on the board game of the same name.

Gameplay[]

Two teams of three kids (one red and the other blue) competed in this board game adaptation. Each team representing their schools.

Main Game[]

The object of the game was to describe words by collecting clues and get your teammates to say those words.

A word and two clues were shown to the givers, one from each team. They took turns selecting clues to place on the game board in one of three sections ("Definitely", "Kind of" and "Not"), depending on how helpful the clues was. After the first clue went up, the guessers started guessing. The first team to guess the right word scored point(s). Each round lasted for two minutes (2:00). The team with the most points when time ran out, they went on to play for a prize.

The playing team faced a 3x3 grid with the outer eight squares spelling out the game's name and the game's name in the middle. Their job was to reveal clues behind the letters (no clue was behind the logo). They did that by firing a Nerf Blaster at the board. Wherever an arrow landed on, that's the square they earned. Time was kept by the number of hot dogs in front of a guy. When time was up, the hit squares were revealed and if the team can come up with the answer, they win a prize.

The game was played for three rounds, with the values different each round:
Round 1 - 1 point
Round 2 - 2 points
Round 3 - 3 points

The team with the most points at the end of round three wins the game.

Bonus Round[]

To start, the winning team chose their own grand prize to play for, and this is how they try to win it:

The winning team was shown three clues, one for each category (One "Definitely", One "Kind of" and One "Not"), their job was to guess the subject from those clues. If they can solve six puzzles correctly in 60 seconds or less, they win their grand prize.
