Gordie Howe (also known as Mr. Hockey, born March 31, 1928, died June 10, 2016) was a former Canadian professional ice hockey player who spent 34 years in his NHL career. He was best known for being on the Detroit Red Wings from 1946-1970, where he captured four Stanley Cups with the team. He also played on the WHA team the Houston Aeros and finished his career back in the NHL with the Hartford Whalers (which then became the Carolina Hurricanes). Overall, in his career, Howe scored 801 goals and tallied 1,049 assists for a grand total of 1,850 points. In the game show world, Howe made an appearance on To Tell the Truth in 1967. Howe died on June 10, 2016, at the age of 88.
