Have I Got News For You (sometimes abbreviated as HIGNFY) is an American adaptation of the British comedy panel show of the same name which delivers comic observations from the satirical to the surreal through the lens of a news quiz show.

Premise[]

Always relevant and topical, the series serves up a smart and edgy take on the news of the week from host Wood Jr. along with two illustrious team captains (i.e. Ruffin & Ian Back). Together, they will guide a rotating collection of guests including notable entertainers, political figures and comedians through an array of comic games and quick-witted panel conversations that tests their knowledge of current events.

Trivia[]

Originally, A pilot for the U.S. version was taped for NBC on November 20, 2009[1]hosted by Sam Seder with comedians Michael Ian Black (later used in the 2024 CNN version) and Greg Giraldo as Team Captains. Additionally, two other pilots prior to the CNN version were later made for Bravo and TBS[2]respectively.
