Hot Ones: The Game Show was the hilarious half-hour game show based on the hugely popular web series (simply called Hot Ones) created by Complex Networks' First We Feast.
Premise[]
In each episode, host Sean Evans welcomes fans into the "Pepperdome" to compete against one another by answering trivia questions and eating increasingly mouth-scorching hot wings for $25,000 and the chance to become Hot Ones legends. Each week, two teams compete in a battle of gastrointestinal fortitude through three rounds of trivia while chowing down blazing hot wings slathered in sauces so fiery, contestants start to lose control of their senses. Each team will become completely disoriented while they try to battle the insane heat of each sauce and make it through to the next round. With EMTs standing by, reactions range from tears, sweat, vomit and in one case, a panic attack, as their mouths melt from the intense heat from the sauce. After three rounds, the team with the most cash will enter into "The Ring of Fire" where they must work together to win the grand prize and the soothing milkshake antidote to their burning mouths.
Gameplay[]
In each round, each team starts by eating a hot wing. Then, they are asked three questions. Each time a team buzzes in and answers correctly, they score cash. In rounds one and two, buzzing in with an incorrect answer awards the cash to the other team. In round three, buzzing in with an incorrect answer gives the other team a chance to steal the cash with the correct answer. Also, in round three, a team takes another bite of a hot wing each time they answer correctly.
The dollar values of the questions are $100, $200, and $300 in round one, $200, $400, and $600 in round two, and $1,000, $2,000, and $3,000 in round three.
After three rounds, the team with the most money wins the game, keeps their money, and advances to “The Ring of Fire“.
The Ring of Fire[]
In “The Ring of Fire” (not to be confused with a Johnny Cash song of the same name), the members of the winning team take turns guessing and describing answers within one minute. If the team gets five correct answers before time runs out, their total winnings are increased to $25,000 and they get the milkshakes. But if they don’t, they leave with just the money won in the main game, and they don’t get the milkshakes.
Trivia[]
