In the second quarterfinal match, he faced against Paul Thompson and Jim Vercolen, answered sixteen responses right and only one response wrong. However, in the FJ!, he got it right, added $5,500 to his score and missing out in the semifinals. But he got the wildcard spot in the semifinals.
In the third semifinal match, he faced against Gordon Wean and Jonathan Groff, answered twenty-two right responses and three wrong responses. In the Final, he was the only contestant to come up with the right response, added $6,000 and was enough to advance to the finals.
