Isabela Merced (born Isabela Moner; July 10, 2001) is a Peruvian-American actress and singer, who has done many projects for Nickelodeon.

Early Life & Education[]

Isabela Moner was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She is the daughter of Katherine, who was born in Lima, Peru, and Patrick Moner, who was born in Louisiana. Even though she is a full-blooded American, Moner has stated that she considers herself more Peruvian than American.

Even though she speaks both Spanish & English now, she said that she had trouble learning English when she started grade school.

At 15 years old, she got accepted to college.

Isabela wanted to act & sing when she was very young as she got her inspiration from watching Shirley Temple and Judy Garland movies. At six years old, she did local theater productions before she made her Broadway debut four years later. Her first Broadway role was in Evita where she sang with Ricky Martin.

In 2012, Moner went into television by doing a commercial for Claritin Chewables. Then a year later, she made her movie debut in the 2013 version of The House that Jack Built.

2014 saw Moner, play a recurring role in the short-lived Growing Up Fisher starring J.K. Simmons. But it was roles in two Nickelodeon projects later that years that gave her more exposure. They were: A Dora the Explorer spinoff called Dora and Friends: Into the City! & 100 Things to Do Before High School. The latter started out as a special before it became a regular series that lasted for one season; while the earlier lasted a good three years.

Isabela is still active in the movie world with notable roles in the TV movie version Legends of the Hidden Temple, Transformers: The Last Knight and in 2019 she went back to the Dora franchise, this time by playing the title role in the film Dora and the Lost City of Gold where she and her co-stars received critical acclaim for the acting in the movie.

Previously, Isabela signed with Broadway records and released an album called Stopping Time. Today she signed with Republic Records.
