Tournament of Champions[]
In the third quarterfinal match, he went up against four-time champion Joel Sacks and Teen Tournament winner Eric Newhouse. Two good DD responses made him catch up with Eric throughout the whole round, however he was unable to get his FJ! question correct and lost too much, missing out on a spot in the semifinals.
Super Jeopardy![]
In the ninth quarterfinal game, he went up against 1987 Seniors Tournament winner Zeke Sevilla Jr, 1985 ToC finalist Bruce Fauman, and 1988 ToC finalist Sandy Gore. While Jeff didn't fare as better as he did previously (only coming in third going into FJ!), he was the only person who got his FJ question correct, earning him a spot in the semifinals.
In the third semifinals game, he went up against 1987 ToC finalist Dave Traini and eventual 1990 ToC winner Bob Blake. Despite a commanding performance in the Jeopardy round, Dave was able to play catch up and Jeff could not recover.
Ultimate Tournament of Champions[]
In the eleventh game of Round One matchups, he went up against College Champion Billy Baxter and Teen Tournament winner Bernard Holloway. In a Jeopardy rarity, both Bernard and Billy were both in the red going into FJ! and could not compete, thus leaving Jeff to compete all by himself and giving him an automatic ticket to Round Two.
In the eleventh game of Round Two matchups, he went up against Lan Djang and ToC winner Mark Dawson. Jeff did not replicate his dominance this game, even up in the red for the vast majority of the DJ! round. His paltry score of $3,200 was not enough to send him to the semifinals.
Aftermath[]
Jeff appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2016 and won $100,000.
Trivia[]
- He, along with Steve Rogitz, are the only Jeopardy players to compete in one, two, three, and four-player Final Jeopardy rounds.
