S36~40

Season 36[]

  • The season picked up right where we left off. Jason (carryover champion from Season 35) won his next 13 matches en route to a 19-game winning streak. After his run ended, there was no champion with 4 consecutive wins until Jennifer Quail won 8 games. After that, Karen Farrell and MacKenzie Jones also won eight games.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a rebroadcast of the GOAT tournament for two weeks from May 4-15, 2020; and the last two weeks of regular competition were taped without a studio audience. The COVID-19 pandemic also prematurely ended the season on June 12th.
  • It was the second season where there are more women who won at least 5 games than men.

  • In this season, SCT was introduced for the first time, ToC was changed from 15 players to 21 players, and like Jeopardy!: The Greatest of All Time, the final was changed to 3 wins out of 7 matches.
  • Compared to last season, which produced big champions such as Amy and Mattea, in this season, the only female is on the sluggish side. A repeat champion came out only after Mira Hayward, and since Emily Fiasco, has not produced more than 3-time female champions until Melissa Klapper, and 4-time female champions until Hannah Wilson.
