John Anderson (born May 13, 1964 in Green Bay, Wisconsin) is a sports journalist and a host of ESPN's TV program SportsCenter since July 1999. Since Brian Kenny's departure for the MLB Network, he mostly appears on the 6-8p.m. edition with Lindsay Czarniak. Ha al co-host the television series Wipeout. He lives in Southington, Connecticut.

Biography

Anderson graduated from Green Bay Southwest High School in Green Bay, WI. His portrait is displayed outside the gym under the sign "Distinguished Alumni" (their are no other portraits but his). Anderson has a degree from the School of Journalism. He is active within the MU Alumni Association and can often be seen at Missouri Tigers sporting events. Anderson was the Grand Marshall at Missouri's 2002 homecoming Football game, in which Missouri beat the University of Kansas. He was the Graduation Speaker at the School of Journalism December 2007 graduation ceremony.

One of the reasons Anderson decided to attend Missouri so that he could compete as a jumper on the track and field team. As a student, Anderson worked at KOMU-TV, but any work on the sports desk was voluntary. After graduating, he spent time in Tulsa, Oklahoma working for KTUL-TV and KOTV-TV, and he also worked in Phoenix at KPHO-TV before joining ESPN.

Staring in 2008, he and John Henson have hosted Wipeout on ABC.

Anderson is an avid fan of Wisconsin sports teams, especially the Milwaukee Brewers, and usually voices some measure of support for them when handling their highlights.

Anderson was also rewarded the Bill Teegins Oklahoma Sportscaster of the year award in January 2012.
