In his second quarterfinal game, he faced 2-day champion Kendra Blanchette and Dane Reighard. He gave sixteen correct responses and four wrong responses. He was the only player correct in player and advanced to the finals. Kendra and Dane took home $10,000.

In the finals, he faced 3-day champion Lucy Ricketts and 2-day champion Sam Stapleton. In day one, he gave nineteen correct responses and three wrong responses. Everyone got Final right and he held a lead $25,200 at the end of day one. In day two. he gave 19 correct responses (including one DD) and four wrong responses and entered Final Jeopardy with a runaway. Lucy was the only player correct, but Josh's runaway made him the $100,000 champion and the Tournament of Champions berth.

Tournament of Champions[]

In the sixth quarterfinal game, he faced 8-day champion Stephen Webb and 3-day champion Brian Henegar. He gave sixteen correct responses and only one wrong response. Stephen finished Double Jeopardy with -$800 and could not play Final Jeopardy. Neither he or Brian got Final correct. Brian's $4,001 wager advanced him to the semifinals. He and Stephen took home $5,000.

Trivia[]

  • As he advanced to ToC, four of the people who competed with Matt Amodio also advanced to ToC.
  • For reference, not only Rowan Ward, and Jessica Stephens, who advanced to ToC by winning SCT in the last ToC, but also Matt Amodio suffered a shock loss in the semifinals. He also met the same fate as them.
  • He is the first Champions Wildcard winner to win his quarterfinal and semifinal games from second place.
