Julie Suzanne Chen Moonves (born January 6, 1970) is best known as the host of CBS' Big Brother since its 2000 debut. When not hosting a group of secluded house guests, she is also the network's news reporter. She is formerly the host of CBS' The Early Show alongside Harry Smith & Maggie Rodriguez; she's been with The Early Show since 1999 and ended her run in 2010. Julie got the job of hosting the American version of "Big Brother" in 2000, but got heavily criticized during the first year on the show, receiving the nickname "The Chenbot". On the same year she left The Early Show, she became one of the hostesses of CBS' talk show clone of The View called The Talk, which replaced the now cancelled long-running soap As the World Turns. At one time Julie was a celebrity contestant on the most recent Password revival, Million Dollar Password. Julie Chen is currently the wife of CBS TV president Leslie Moonves.
Trivia[]
Julie once revealed that she actually got plastic surgery around her eyes to make them bigger and to look less Asian. According to Chen, she did that for career purposes after a news director said she won't make it as a news anchor. Initially, her decision divided her family but eventually they came around.
