On May 9, 2023, during the contestant interviews for the Fan Favorites theme show on Wheel of Fortune, Melinda announced that her husband Larry Gardner passed away, and she carried his name tag from the show.[2]
Larry passed away at hospice care on December 21, 2021, at the age of 64.[3] The cause of death is unknown.[4]
