  • Mediterranean Cruise, the most expensive prize ever offered on Press Your Luck in the 1980's, debuts in square #15 to replace San Diego. It had three different values ($6,118, $6,298, and $6,704), but it always maintained that record on this version. Amsterdam debuts in square #17, replacing Curacao.
  • After Home Player Sweepstakes II concluded, Double Your $$ + One Spin returned to the position where Man's Fur Jacket was normally at.

  • While Tokyo takes a break to make way for Canadian Rockies, a novelty prize called Daytime Emmys, giving players an opportunity to win a trip to The 12th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in New York City, which was broadcast on CBS on August 1, 1985, debuts in square #10c. Peter Tomarken and Susan Lucci presented the awards for Outstanding Host of a TV Talk Service Show, and Outstanding Talk Service Show. It was possibly put in this square to give players three ways to access it (just like with $2,000 or Lose 1 Whammy from February 1985-June 1986). In each episode with these prize rotations, this square would always reset to this special prize, likely to always give players an easy opportunity to win it. The trip was won one time by Lisa on 7/9. For whatever reason, two Daytime Emmys trips were on the board, both valued differently. In addition, positions #5 and #6 were both left blank for this square.
  • Car in square #15 gets a price hike by $572. Mexican Cruise returns, with a $1,786 increase in value, and replaces Mediterranean Cruise.

September 5, 1985[]

Add-A-One is introduced to Round 1 in square #5 as of this date. It initially replaces Food Factory in position #6, but also appears in positions #2 and #4. In the first week of its appearance, the square was reset at the beginning of each game to ensure that Add-a-One was showing. Certain squares are now designated for featured trips. One of four things would happen: Either a trip would be described in both Rounds, only one would be described, none would be described, or they were edited out altogether due to time constraints.
