Lotería Loca is the new primetime game show for CBS, based on the latin game Lotería aka Mexican Bingo.

Gameplay[]

Main Game: Mano A Mano[]

Two contestants compete in rounds of Lotería or Mexican Bingo, where they try to capture a line of three pictures on their Lotería cards, for the right to play for up to $1,000,000.

To start, each contestant will be given their own Mexican Bingo card with nine pictures each. Those same pictures will be hidden behind a game board of 15 squares numbered 1-15. Each one also will have a dollar amount attached.

Contestants in turn will select a number and if the hidden card matches a space on their card, it is covered and the money attached to it will be added to their bank. But if it's card that matches an opponents space, their space was lit and they steal the money. Along the way, a contestant could uncover a "Loca" card, prompting a special Loca challenge for up to $10,000 to their bank, provided that the space behind it is on their card. Achieving three in a row or a Lotería wins a $10,000 bonus. Two Loterías win the game and the right to play for $1,000,000.

Million Dollar Loteria[]

The winning contestants' bank carries over to this round. This time, the winning contestant is given a Tableto with 16 spaces and is shown a game board of 20 squares numbered 1-20. 16 of them hide the same 16 spaces on the card and money amounts as usual. The remaining four hide red skulls. As in the game, the winning contestant will be picking off number one by one. Each time (s)he reveals a matching space, it is covered and the money attached will be added to his/her bank. The Loca cards are still there, only this time the challenges are worth up to $20,000, to be added to the bank if the Loca hides a space on the card. Each time (s)he makes a Loteria, another $25,000 gets added to his/her bank. However, each time the contestant finds a skull, (s)he loses a life and loses half of his/her money. Finding all four skulls ends the game and loses all the money. That's why to prevent this or the earlier from happening, the winning contestant has the option to stop the game and keep whatever they have up to that point; but they can only do that after a Loteria is achieved. If the contestant uncovers the third skull, they can choose to take a one-time offer to stop the game and take half of the remaining bank (which had already been halved by the skull). And finally, if the winning contestant can uncover and cover up all 16 spaces, their winnings will be augmented to $1,000,000.

Trivia[]

This show premiered on the same day as The Price is Right at Night: Survivor Superfans special.
The title of this show translates to Crazy Lottery in English.
This is the first English-Speaking, multicultural and bilingual game show on television.
Host Jaime Camil previously starred on The CW sitcom Jane the Virgin as Rogelio de la Vega, a famous telenovela star and Jane Gloriana Villanueva's (played by Gina Rodriguez) biological father.
On October 31, 2023 (a.k.a Halloween) the series[1]was pulled from the schedule as reruns of NCIS replaces it amid falling viewership. But a special Holiday-themed episode aired on Christmas Eve.
