Lucy Kate Hale (born Karen Lucille Hale on June 14, 1989 in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.) is an American actress, model and singer/songwriter best known for her role of Aria Montgomery on ABC Family's (now Freeform's) Pretty Little Liars.

She made her television debut as a contestant on American Juniors, the kids version of American Idol. She even did an American Idol special called An American Idol Christmas. Two years after her stint on American Idol spinoffs, Lucy appeared in a countless number of movies & TV shows, starred in two TV series; all before getting the job of portraying one of the Pretty Little Liars in 2010.

Lucy is still active in the music business and has signed on with Hollywood Records and started recording in 2012. Her debut album was released in 2014.

Since 2016, Lucy became the southern co-host for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.
