In the quarterfinals, he went up against a 5-time champion Cathy Lanctot and a 4-time champion Chris Mazurek, answered twenty responses correctly, but he got three of them wrong. However, in the FJ!, he didn't come up with the right response and it wasn't enough to make it to the semifinals, taking the $5,000 and the Jeopardy! DVD Home Game System.

- His turn against IBM's Jeopardy!-playing computer Watson was featured in a video posted along with a New York Times Magazine article published June 14, 2010. Mehrun played against Watson and Season 22 5-time champion Maria Wenglinsky. The final score shown in the video was Maria: $19,200; Watson: $3,200; Mehrun: $42,400.
