Melissa Joan Catherine Hart (born April 18, 1976) is an American actress, writer, television director, television producer, singer and businesswoman. Hart is known for her title roles in the television series Clarissa Explains It All (1991–1994), the live action version of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (1996–2003), and Melissa & Joey (2010–2015).

Melissa Hart was named after the Allman Brothers song "Melissa", while her middle name, Joan, came from her maternal grandmother. She chose Catherine as her confirmation name when she was in the eighth grade. As a teen she became self-conscious of her right side lazy eye lid but as acting jobs kept coming in, she realized that it was not going to affect her career at all.

In her Sabrina years, her character had a different last name in the movie version which was Sawyer; when it went to series it was changed to Spellman. While doing Sabrina, Melissa appeared as her signature title character in other television shows including Boy Meets World, Promised Land, and the Dick Van Dyke medical drama Diagnosis: Murder. Hart also did the animated series but as the voice of Aunt Hilda Spellman, a role played in the live-action series by Caroline Rhea also Aunt Zelda Spellman, another role played in the live-action series by Beth Broderick. Melissa's sister Emily provided the voice of the title character.

For five years from 2010 to 2015, Melissa starred opposite fellow child star Joey Lawrence on the hit ABC Family/Freeform series Melissa & Joey.

Melissa is currently married to musician Mark Wilkerson and has three children.
