Meredith Louise Vieira (born December 30, 1953, in East Providence, RI) is an American television personality who served as host and an executive producer of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (syndicated version only). She replaced Regis Philbin in 2002; while at the helm of Millionaire, she became the second female to win an Emmy award for Outstanding Game Show Host, and she is the first (and to date, only) female to win the award twice. In 2013, Meredith left Millionaire and was replaced by Cedric the Entertainer. In addition, Meredith is best known for being the original moderator on ABC’s The View, which she left in 2006 to join NBC's The Today Show, replacing Katie Couric. Ann Curry replaced Meredith in 2011. (Ann was later replaced by Savannah Guthrie.) In the fall of 2014, Meredith started hosting her own daytime talk show, The Meredith Vieira Show, which lasted until May 20, 2016. In the fall of 2019, she is hosting another game show called 25 Words or Less.
