In the third quarterfinal game, he faced off against Paul Croshier and John Hnat. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with answered 20/22 correct responses (including 1/2 Daily Doubles). Croshier finished Double Jeopardy with -$800 and was eliminated from Final Jeopardy and received $1,000. Both remaining players got Final correct. Boymel advanced to the semifinals. Hnat received a wildcard as his $4,800 was enough to advance.
In the third semifinal game, he faced off against Jerry Frankel and Ron Black. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 13/16 correct responses (including 0/1 Daily Double). He and Ron got Final incorrect, but after losing to Jerry (in a runaway game), they both received $5,000.

In the seventeenth game of Round 1, he faced off against Ed Schiffer and Andrew Garen. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 10/15 correct responses (including 1/1 Daily Double).
