In the first quarterfinal match, he faced with 4-time champion Jason Shore and 7-time champion Stephanie Jass, answered eleven responses right (including 1 DD), and only one was wrong. In FJ!, all three players got the right response, and he advanced to the semifinals
In the third semifinal match, he went up against 7-time champion Keith Whitener and 9-time champion Jason Keller, answered seven responses right and only two of them he respond it wrong. However, in FJ!, he didn't come up with the right response, lost $2,000, but it wasn't enough to advance to the finals. He took the $10,000 home.
