Richard Schaal (b. May 7, 1928 - d. November 4, 2014) was an American film and television actor.
Early Life and Career[]
In 1962, he joined Chicago's Second City, becoming skilled in sketch and improvisational comedy. Schaal had a recurring role in Just Our Luck. He was also featured in several episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show where he played no less than four different characters as Howard Arnell, his brother Paul, Chuckles the Clown and Dino (not to be confused with the famous purple black-spotted dinosaur pet from the Hanna Barbera cartoon The Flintstones of the same name) The Bob Newhart Show as Chuck Brock, Rhoda as Charlie Burke and Phyllis as Leo Heatherton.
Personal Life[]
Schaal was married to actress and former Rhoda co-star Valerie Harper from 1964 until 1978. Also, his daughter is an actress and the voice of American Dad's Francine Smith, Wendy Schaal by his first marriage to Lois (nee Tracey).

On November 4, 2014, Schaal passed away at his home in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California at the age of 86.
