Robert James Keeshan or Bob Keeshan (b. June 27, 1927 – d. January 23, 2004) was an American television producer and actor. He was best known as the titular character Captain Kangaroo, on the long-running children's program of the same name on CBS from 1955 to 1984. In the game show world, he appeared on Hollywood Squares and What's My Line?. Keeshan died on January 23, 2004, at age 76. He is survived by his three children, Michael, Laurie, and Maeve. He was predeceased by his wife Anne Jeanne Laurie Keeshan, who died on February 25, 1996.
