Robert Ray “Rod” Roddy (born September 28, 1937 in Fort Worth, TX; died October 27, 2003 in Los Angeles, CA) was an American broadcaster and announcer. He was most recognizable as a game show announcer, but most notably, The Price is Right from 1986 until 2003. Other than The Price is Right, he has also announced on other game shows such as Whew!, Love Connection, and Press Your Luck. He was also a sub announcer for Hollywood Squares during Game Show Week. Prior to his game show announcing work, Rod was the narrator on the successful dramedy Soap and during his work on Price, he provided the voice of Mike the Microphone on Disney's House of Mouse. Rod passed away as a result of colon and breast cancer on October 27, 2003, less than one month after his 66th birthday; he is interred at Greenwood Memorial Park in his native Fort Worth, TX.
