In the forty-fifth game of the first round, he went up against 1994 ToC semifinalist Steve Chernicoff and 1995 ToC quarterfinalist Ben Lyon, answered ten responses correctly and one incorrect response. However, in the FJ!, he didn't come up with the right response, lost $9,400 and a spot in the second round.
