Week #297[]

This was the final week of the original 1984–1990 run. The following Monday, Scrabble was replaced at 10:00 a.m. with reruns of 227, which moved from 11:30 a.m. to make room for the premiere of The Marsha Warfield Show, though reruns would air on WNBC-TV in New York City from March 26 to September 7 at 3:30 p.m.; the reruns were from the first half of 1987. Scrabble was rerun on USA Network from September 16, 1991 to October 13, 1995 (except for a period from February 6 to April 14, 1995), and a new version ran from January 18 to May 21, 1993 (the last three weeks were reruns). On Wednesday, Tracia showed off a photo resume of her as a Clown at the circus, and Chip Puskar was a contestant. He later became a regular on Whose Line Is It Anyway?. On Thursday, the contestants' area was a little late in appearing in the intro, and Debbie in Game 2 showed a big picture of her 2-year-old son. On Friday, Chuck referenced his dismissal from Wheel of Fortune in 1981, and during the final segment, thanked everyone on the production staff, and everyone came out on stage. George Seeley, the last champion during the original series' run, returned three years later on the premiere episode of the brief 1993 revival.
