Chuck announced that because of many letters from fans who weren't happy with the spelling variant of the Crossword Round, it was decided to drop that variant, and go back to what he called "Classic Scrabble", referencing the ill-fated New Coke becoming "Coca-Cola Classic". Although spelling was dropped, there was still $950 in the pot when the match was interrupted for Teen Week the following Monday. It was decided to add $500 to that pot, making it $1,450, and the blue and pink squares were respectively worth $500 and $1,000 again. Chuck now handed a player who got the bonus one $100 bill after another, as opposed to all at once like originally, and they were now in use if the first letter the word was building on was one one of those squares, or if a player guessed it in Speedword. Chuck addressed a correction of Deana's last name (he said Ward instead of Wright), and got a stopper. On Friday, Robert did a Miss Piggy impersonation.
