Songs for Sale was a weekly music show that featured aspiring amateur songwriters submitted their songs to be performed by professional singers.
Format[]
Each week, six songs were performed in front of a judging panel of music experts, and the winning song received $100 in cash. Every sixth week, the winners of the previous five weeks came back for a chance at additional prizes and cash. The final winner also had their song recorded by a top artist from one of the leading record companies.

- Among the singers who performed on the show were Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Johnny Desmond, and Richard Hayes. Mitch Miller (then head of A&R for Columbia Records) served as judge for a time.
- One of the writers for the show was future game show creator and producer Bob Stewart.
