South of Wilshire was a celebrity-theme, eight-week, test run game show that's set at Dulan's soul food restaurant. In promos, the show is sometimes often described as "A different kind of game show".
Premise[]
Set in the Crenshaw District of L.A. with Dulan's soul food restaurant as the studio for the show, contestants watch videos shot in Compton, Inglewood, Baldwin Hills and other areas where celebrities hang out (restaurants, bars, churches, tattoo parlors, gyms, basketball courts etc.). Three contestants guess the identity of a famous celebrity from clues that are provided by the owners and customers at the locations and play for money as the audience dines on soul food at Dulan's. In the final round, a celebrity guest (whose identity is disguised) gives clues about him or herself.

This is the first game show produced by TMZ, seven years later, their second is Who the Bleep is That? in 2023.
