Meet tonight's contestants: (insert description of first contestant) that's (insert contestant's name). (insert description of second contestant) He's/She's from (insert capital) that's (insert contestant's name). That's our two contestants my name is Marcus Dumas and that's the host of That's Atlanta!, Tiffany Yates!"
(NOTE: Georgia on your mind, is a reference to the classic song "Georgia on My Mind" original released in 1930 composed by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics by Stuart Gorrell which was later sung by the late Ray Charles in 1960, it was also used as the instrumental version of the opening theme of the classic sitcom Designing Women, Charles himself performed the song on his signature piano while the casts watched him.)
That's Atlanta! is a local game show in Georgia, that talks about anything and everything associated with the capital city Atlanta.
Gameplay[]
Two contestants competed each week.
Main Game[]
Rounds 1 & 2[]
The contestants faced a video wall divided into four screens. Each consisted of a category, so there were four categories altogether. Each category had three questions and the question were multiple choice as they each had three possible answers. The contestants will take turns throughout. On his/her turn, (s)he picked a category and the question was revealed followed by the choices. Choosing the correct answer earned money. The rounds were played until all questions were exhausted or until time ran out.
Round 1[]
In round one, correct answers won $10 while incorrect answers gave the opponent a chance to steal for half price or $5.
Round 2[]
In round two, correct answers won $20. This round was an audience participation round; each time a contestant missed, a member of the studio audience would try to answer the question for small prizes.
Round 3: That's Atlanta/Not Atlanta/Tiebreaker Round[]
This final round had nothing but true/false questions about Atlanta. The contestants simultaneously choose which was the correct answer by a push of a button. This time correct answers were worth $25 each. The player with the most money when time ran out, won the game. Both contestants kept the cash.
Bonus Round[]
In the bonus round, the winning contestant attempted to answer five questions correctly in 30 seconds or less. To help out the contestant, (s)he was given one of three initial letters to each answer. Correct answers won $50, and winning the bonus round won a total of $250 and a grand prize package.
