The Amazing American was an early radio quiz show.

The show's objective was to associate the travel services of the Greyhound Bus Lines with facts about the United States. A lecture, reconstructed to resemble a parlor game and containing facts about an unknown American locale, was read to the studio audience. Contestants chosen from the audience were asked questions concerning the lecture; they were permitted to receive two clues, but each clue reduced the point value of the question. Failure to respond within the allotted time disqualified a player from receiving points for that particular question. The player with the highest score at the end of the game was the winner, and received the title "The Amazing American".
