The Dragon is a fictional character from the 1970s and 1990s game show Tic Tac Dough. The Dragon usually appears in the show's bonus round as "Beat The Dragon" (except the 1989 pilot).
Background[]
(1978-1986 version)[]
If the dragon appeared in any of the nine boxes, it ended the round and lost all the money in the pot. In addition, the same prize package would be at stake for the entire episode until it was won. Most episodes, the dragon's "den" is at number 6.
(1990 version)[]
Like its predecessor, finding the dragon would end the round and cost the contestant everything he/she won up to that point. In addition, beginning about seven weeks into the run, the dragon described its purpose as a short rap as it was introduced by Patrick Wayne. The Dragon (nor the dragon slayer) have never appeared in the 1989 pilot.
The rap lyrics for the dragon in the 1990 version were:
"You came for fortune and you came for fame, but if you pick the dragon, you'll lose the game!"
(2021 Pilot)[]
Like its 1978-86 & 1990 versions respectively, the dragon still has green skin, but this time its CGI with big, black eyelashes who can sing and has the voice of a stereotypical sassy black woman which sounds similar to comedic actress Kym Whitley.
(2025 version)[]
This dragon has purplish skin with matching light blue wings, belly/tail, eyes and toes, but like its 70s counterpart it still uses a red background.
