The News Hole (a.k.a. The News Hole with Harry Shearer) was a current event news-themed quiz show.

Gameplay[]

The program featured a panel of four attempting to answer questions that are both comical and factual posed by Shearer. Points were awarded as Shearer deemed appropriate.

The final round of the show featured all four panelists being pitted against four famous people who were competing via satellite. The clips included Secretary of State Warren Christopher, Senator George Mitchell, Sportscaster Bob Costas and Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
