Three on a Date is a made-for-TV comedy movie where the adventures and mishaps of four couples, winners on a TV game show along with their young chaperone on a Hawaiian holiday. At the time, this was considered as a "movie-of-the-week".
Plot[]
Four couples who won on The New Dating Game, along with their young chaperone, are taken to Hawaii for 10 days. Love, mishaps, revelations, and a kidnapping ensue.
Trivia[]
- Director Bill Bixby is best known for playing David Banner on The Incredible Hulk, which ran on CBS from 1977-82.
- The film uses the set and theme from The New Dating Game, which had ended in 1974.
- The Dating Game segment has Geoff Edwards hosting, walking out with no announcer introduction before having each Bachelor introduce themselves. Given the timeframe, this may suggest that the 1978-80 series was piloted as The New Dating Game with Geoff hosting (since Jim Lange was hosting The Hollywood Connection during Fall 1977).
