In the fifth quarterfinal game, he faced 2005 College Championship winner Nico Martinez and 4-day champion Bill MacDonald. He gave twelve correct responses and three wrong responses (including 1 DD). Nico finished Double Jeopardy with $0 and could not play Final. Both contestants remaining got Final correct. Bill automatically advanced to the semifinals due to his runaway. He and Nico took home $5,000.

He returned in the BoTD tournament. He faced with Larissa Kelly and Russ Schumacher in the third game of the 2000s decade. Unfortunately, he didn't make it to the semifinals.
