Tournament of Champions[]
In the first quarterfinal game, he faced 5-day champion Jay Rhee and 2011 Teachers Tournament winner Charles Temple. He gave nineteen correct responses (including one DD) and three wrong responses. He and Jay got Final correct and they both advanced to the semifinals.
In the first semifinal game, he faced the wildcards, 6-day champion Justin Sausville and 2010-B College Championship winner Erin McLean. He gave 27 correct responses (including two DDs) and only one wrong response (the DD after finding all of them). He and Justin got Final correct. Tom advanced to the finals. Justin and Erin took home $10,000.
In the finals, he faced 6-day champion Roger Craig and 4-day champion Buddy Wright. In game one, he gave fifteen correct responses and only one wrong response. He and Roger got final correct. In game two, he gave sixteen correct responses and only one wrong response. Final Jeopardy was a Triple Stumper. Roger's runaway made him the $250,000 champion. He took $100,000 for first runner-up.
Battle of the Decades[]
He played in the first game of the Battle of the Decades 2000s preliminaries. He faced 2012-B Teachers Tournament winner and 2013 Tournament of Champions winner Colby Burnett and Season 22 5-day champion, and 2007 Tournament of Champions winner Celeste DiNucci. He gave eleven correct responses and two wrong responses. He was the only player correct in Final; however, small wagers from his opponents means that Colby advanced to the quarterfinals. He and Celeste took home $5,000.
